country and western swing music. Guitarist and singer Rick McRae
has played with George Strait for 25 years. Bassist Terry Hale was
a founding member of George Strait's "Ace in the Hole" band and
has played with Strait for 35 years. Billy Curtis, fiddle, saxophone
player, and vocalist, played with Houston's great Wild River Band.
Art Kidd plays with many well-known Texas musicians, including
Floyd Domino, Christine Albert, Erik Hokkanen and Beto and the
Fairlanes.
Where there’s a will, there's a way. John Arthur Martinez worked
many jobs, sang in hundreds of bars, successfully marketed sev-
eral CDs of his songs, won regional radio airplay and worked his
way up from debt to profitability during his climb to prominence
on the competitive Texas music scene. With the release of Rodeo
Night for AGR TV/Universal, Martinez makes his bid for an inter-
national audience. The process ignited with his second place finish
on the USA Network’s Nashville Star. Millions of music fans were
first exposed to his music. He has since made his debut on the
Grand Ole Opry with Carrie Underwood, has performed across the
U.S. with Pat Green, Dwight Yoakum, Randy Travis, Peter Dula,
Rueben Ramos, Keith Urban, Randy Rogers, and Asleep at the
Wheel, and has toured Europe with his band Tejas. He has been
recognized by National Academy of the Recording Arts and Sci-
ences for his songwriting contribution to the Grammy-winning al-
bum by Flaco Jimenez called Flace Jimen.
HiH Country performing musical artists Manny and Terry Duarte,
better known as "Manny & Teru" play an eclectic mix of contem-
porary folk, western, Celtic, Spanish-American, singer/songwriter
and original music. This will be their fifth year playing at the Ll-
ano Heritage Days Festival.
Johnny Nicolas of Hill Top restaurant fame will be playing some
of his old time swing and jazzy Texas tunes. The Tumbleweeds
will wow you with their peppy popular songs as the sun sets into
the western sky.
This festival is in it’s 10th year and is one of the finest times you
can have. Contact the City of Llano for more information: (325)
