THE STATE OF TEXAS,
COUNTY OF EDWARDS.
Be it remembered that on this day,
Monday, April 11, 1938, there came
and was held in the town of Rock-
springs, Texas, as the Courthouse
thereof, a regular term of the Commis-
sioners’ Court of Edwards County,
Texas. The following were present:
The Hon. J. L. Johnson, Judge, pre-
siding; J. S. Brown, Commissioner
Precinct . No. 1; J. C. Pope, Com-
missioner Precinct No. 2; W. A. Chap-
man, Commissioner Precinct No. 3;
C. V. Whitworth, Commissioner Pre-
cinct No. 4; E. I. Miller, Clerk County
Court; E. S. Young, Sheriff of the said
Edwards County, Texas.
Court was opened in due form of
law by the Sheriff of Edwards County,
Texas, and the following proceedings
were had to-wit:
It is ordered by the Court that the
sum of $4532.00 be and the same is
hereby ordered to be transferred from
the Auto Road and Bridge Fund to
the Road and Bridge Fund of the
County.
The monthly report of Loui Strack-
bein, J. P., examined and approved.
It is ordered by the Court that the
following named officers each be al-
lowed per diem pay for attendance
upon this term of Court, out of the
2nd Class Fund, and in amounts as
follows:
J. S. Brown, Commissioner Precin-
ct No. 1, $5.00 per day, 1 day, $5.00;
W. A. Chapman, Commissioner Pre-
cinct No. 3, $5.00 per day, 1 day, $5.00;
J. C. Pope, Commissioner Precinct
No. 2, $5.00 per day, 1 day, $5.00; C.
V. Whitworth, Commissioner Precinct
No. 4, $5.00 per day, 1 day, $5.00.
The Butcher's Report of A. E. Bus-
well, this day examined and approved.
April 11, 1938: The Court having
this day opened, estimated and tabu-
lated the returns of the Election held
in Edwards County on the 2nd day of
April A. D. 1938, in the yarious
school districts of the county, for the
purpose of electing school trustees for
said respective school districts, and it
appearing to the court, and • is here-
now entered of record, and the court
so finds and orders and declares that
the following named persons have
been elected school trustees for the
respective school districts and as fol-
lows, to-wit:
Rocksprings Independent School
District: J. N. Lockley, C. O. Whit-
worth, O. O. Cowsert.
Barksdale Consolidated Independent
School District: Andrew Creech, Lon
Felts.
Carta Valley Independent School
District: Camp Brown, N. E. Varga.
Deats Independent School District:
Mrs. Delia Barker, W. W. Baker, Wy-
ley Fisher.
Hackberry Independent School Dis-
trict: W. E. Hodges, L. E. Welch.
It is ordered by the Court that J. L
Johnson, County Judge, order Steel
office files for his office and present
claim for approval at next regular
term of this Court.
It is ordered by the Court that the
sum of $500.00 be advanced to E. S.
Young, Tax Assessor and Collector,
for assesing taxes for the year 1938,
to be paid out of the 3rd Class Fund

continue to act as such for the ensuing
two years and until their respective
successors are appointed, to-wit:

Precinct No. 2: R. R. Kirchner, pre-

next 3000 gallons, 40 cents per thou-
sand gallons; over 7,000 gallons, a
charge of 25 cents per one thousand
