Erath REA Expects
Approval Soon For
Newest Extension
Additional information for the
Washington office of the Rural
Electrification Administration was
completed thia week by the Erath
County Electric Co-Operetive As-
sociation office here. This data
pertains to tha co-operative’s ap-
plication for permlasion to build
a new extension to present lines,
to be known as Section C. Approv-
al for thia extension la expected
soon.
O. A. Tunnell, project superin-
tendent, said Thursday afternoon
that the co-operative still is ac-
cepting membership applications
for still another extension, to be
known as Section D. This section
will include short extensions to be
built to present lines throughout
the co-operative area. The office
expects, Tunnell said, to have the
required number of members for
Section D by the end of thia
month.
The regular meeting of the
board of director* of the local co-
operative will be held next Tues-
day, August 13, In the offic* of the
Erath County Co-Operative, lo-
cated on the east side of the
square in Stephenville.
Break in Heat Wave
A break in the heat wave was
noted here Thursday as the tem-
perature chart in the office of the
Southwest Natural Gas Company
registered only 88 degrees. Wed-
nesday’s high mark was 93. High
for the season to date is 103 de-
grees, which the gas company
chart registered several times dur-
ing the heat wave.
