lution held their annual luncheon
honoring the Good Citizens at the
Victoria Country Club Thursday.
At this time the girls who have
been chosen as the good citizens

are the honor guests. Mrs. Wm.
Ely, the Chapter's good Citizen
Chairman, had charge of the days’
program.
Guests were seated at long tab-
ing Bureaucracy in America. Tht:i

A tempting menu was served to
around 100 guests.
Following the meal, the regent,
Mrs. A. 11. Von Dohlen welcomed
the guests and presented Mrs. Fly.
An article taken from the Victor-
ia Advocate was read by the
Chairman of Defense. It gave a
warning of the danger of increas
ing beaurcrocy in America. Then
the honorees, with their mothers
were introduced. Each girl was
Presented her certificate and good
citizenship pin. These honor guests
represented I Ugh Schools in Vic-
toria, Yoakum, Goliad, Yorktown,
N'ordheim, Bloomington, Cuero
and Port Lavaca.
An excellent talk on our indi-
vidual responsibility as American
Citizens was given by Judge Leo-
John Pc-ttus and guest Miss Dottie
Chaloupka, Mrs. A. J. House and
guest Mrs. Travis Wendel.
Yoakum High School is proud
of its choice of Dottie as this
year’s good Citizen, and wishes
for her true success in the years
to come.

On Monday night, January 19th.

a Pink and Blue Lullaby Shower
at the Heidaker home on 5(M Coke
Street naming as honoree, Mrs.
Julius Marburger.
Upon arrival, Mrs. Marburger
was presented a pink rattler cor-
sage which she pinned with dia-
per pins to her pretty green frock.
Miss Gayle Marburger regist-
ered guests and gifts were placed
in a baby bed.
Several appropriate games were
played and the winners presented
their prizes to the honoree.
The refreshment table was cov-

of the ten new chapter winners

scholarship to further her stu-
dies in home economics. Miss

Chapter in Area I, was awarded
the runner-up title.
The Outstanding Chapter and
New Chapter awards are pre-
sented each year to chapters
judged to have contributed most
toward the growth of individ-
ual members and the communi-
ty. The State Little Sister Award
is given to a Future Homemaker
of America who has been out-
standing as a member of her
family, school, church and
community, and who pjans to
major in home economics edu-
cation.
