BUSY DAY AT I
_ POLICE STATION
The Mexicans attacked the
mounted police yesterday, fight-
ing a battle which resulted in
the death of a large number of
them. General Manager Dwight
was injured by a bullet, receiv-
ing a scalp wound, but it is not
dangerous. Five thousand Mex-
icans are on a strike. They are
very defiant, marching through
the streets, only awaiting the
appearance of anarchist flags to
attack the Mexicans and Ameri-
cans who do not join them. Some
of the Mexicans are standing by
the Americans but it is feared
they will not remain with them
long if it seems the rioters have
the upper hand.
