“CUTICURA REMEDIES
A HOUSEHOLD STANDBY"
‘In reply to your letter I write you
my experience, and you are privileged
to use it as you see fit. Last year,
after having my little girl treated by a
very prominent physician for an obsti-
nate case of eczema, I resorted to the
Cuticura Remedies, and was .so well
pleased with the almost instantaneous
relief afforded that we discarded the
physician’s prescription and relied en-
tirely on the Cuticura Soap, Cuticura
Ointment, and Cuticura Pills. When
we commenced with the Cuticura Rem-
edies her feet and limbs were covered
with running sores. In about six weeks
we had her completely well, and there
has been no recurrence of the.^rouble.
“In July of this vear a littMboy in
our family poisoned his hands and arms
with poison oak, and in twenty-four
hours nis Hands and arms were a mass
of torturing sores. We used onlv the
Cuticura Remedies, washing his hands
and arms with the Cuticura Soap, and
anointed them with the Cuticura Oint-
ment, and then gave him the Cuticura
Resolvent. In about three weeks his
hands and arms healed up; so we have
lots of cause for feeling grateful for the
Cuticura Remedies. We find that the
Cuticura Remedies are a valuable
household standby, living as we do
twelve miles from a doctor, and where
it costs from twenty to twenty-five dol-*
lars to come up on the mountain.
Respectfully, Mrs. Lizzie Vincent
Thomas, Fairmount, Walden’s Ridge,
Tenn., Oct. 13, 1905.”

The inhabitants of San Francisco
have a taste for excitement. A cor-
respondent writing from there relates
this incident in point: “I happened
upon one of the victims of the fire
sitting near the site of his ' old home,
bis hat pulled over has eyes, loafing
and looking down over the miles of
ghastly ruin where in spots the fires
still smoldered. The horror was
hardly more than a week old; yet
presently this man fetched a deep
yawn, stretching his arms abroad.
‘Gee, whizP he complained, ‘I wish
something would happen. This is
getting tedious.’*” , .

The twenty-first annual entertain-
ment of the State Fair of Texas will be
held in the Fair Grounds Park, in
Dallas, October 13 to October 28,
1906.
Geo. E. Kessler, of St. Louis, a
landscape architect of national repu-
tation, has given us a new plan of our
grounds, and has located the perma-
nent buildings to be erected in the
juture. The changes We are making
in the grounds we believe .will be an
agreeable surprise to visitor* next fall.
We are constructing a new adminis-
tration building, at a point about
seventy-five feet norhwest of the old
office building. Thi« is to be an
ornate edifice of concrete stone, similar
to the material in Exposition Hall,
erected last year. The cars of the
various street railway lines, by the use
of a loop, will be enabled to stop under
a pavilion, to serve as a union depot,
in front of the new building, through
which pedestrians will pass into the
grounds.
The front part of the grounds, in-
cluding the old base ball park and the
ground formerly occupied by the gin
buildings, is being laid off into flower
beds to be interspersed with fountains.
The entire space between Machinery
Hall and the grandstand will be occu-
pied by exhibits. Amusement Row
will extend eastward from the grand-
stand a distance of 1125 feet. The
scenic railway, one of the attractions
in this department will be completed
and in operation by June 1.
The race horse barns on this ground
are being removed to the east end of
the new buildings of the extension of
the live stock department. The poul-
try building will be located at the west
end of the livestock department, and
the handsome new horticultural build-
ing on the triangular space on the east
side of Exposition Building.
Tl|us the fair will this year extend
entirely round the race track, which,
for the convenience of visitors, will be
belted by the inter-mural electricrail-
way. |
The premium lists in all departments
have been revised, the classifications
changed and extended and the money
increased.
We aril offering sach inducements
in the way of stakes and purses as
will make the races even better than
they were last year.
The newest and best attractions are
being secured for Music Hall and the
Pike.
