black and white woodcut, serigraph cover. 2002
"For the moment, I'm concentrating on a theme based on events happening in the Juirez, Chih.
Mexico/El Paso, TX area. In July 1997, the death of drug lord Amado Carrillo Fuentes caused a
war for supremacy to emerge between groups of drug dealers. Since the drug wars began,
hundreds of people, including innocents, have died. People in the region have become
accustomed to the daily chaos. I want to confront them through my prints so they understand
that these problems cannot be ignored. This constant lack of attention is becoming part of the
violence problem. People do not seem to care; therefore, the problem won't go away."
In May 2002, Miguel Arag6n graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a double BFA
