Willie Wanton (ally) Stone, son
of Mrs. Cathryn Stone of Supdown,
enlisted into the Regular Arfny for
a period of three years, N^ay 29.
Stone enlisted under the "graduate
Specialist Program" for training in
the Engineer's Heating and Venti-
lating School at Fort Leonard Wood,
Mo. He will receive his basic train-
ing at Fort Carson. Colo. Stone
was a graduate of the senior class
of 1959 at Sundown High.
Also enlisted at this time was
Joe Lewis, Route 3, Levelland, and
other area men who enlisted for
Regular Army unassigned andjwill
receive their basic training at
Carson, Colo.

Mrs. Marguerite Richardson and
Mrs. Leota Bennett attended a
meeting of hair stylists at the Lub-
bock Hotel Monday night.
Colored pictures of hair styles
were projected on the screen for
beauticians bv Pill SharDlev of Jes-
sie Lee’s Hair Design Institute.
Plans were made for delegates to
go to Houston in June to the state
convention of hair stylists. In Hous-
ton the new fall hair trend will be
presented for the first time.

harral Home Demonstration Cub
met In the Homemaking Cottage
Wednesday, May 27. Mrs. Rafe
Rodgers, president, conducted the
meeting.
Roll call was answered with a
new sandwich idea.
A program was planned on can-
cer for June 24, beginning at 2:30
p.m. The public is invited to at-
tend the meeting, it was announ-
ced.
The club purchased a book tr
be placed in the county library in
Fort Levelland, and members planned
' programs for the year book.
Those present were Mmes. S. J.
Clevenger, Tot Lewis, Warren Tip-
ton, Guy Hughes. Raymond Clev-
enger, J. E. Gravitt, Robert Strick-
land, Leon Slape, and two guests,
Mrs. E. G. Wade and Mrs. Theo-
dore Priest of Clovis, N. M.
The next meeting wil'l be an all
day meeting June 10, in the home
of Mrs. Rodgers.
Each members is asked to bring
a covered dish.

ioli and white candles formed the
setting for the service.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Earl Williamson and the
bridegroom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Claude Tucker Jr., all of
Sundown.
The bride entered the sanctuary
on the arm of her father, who gave
her in marriage. Her gown was
floor length, made of white net
over taffeta. The neckline was V-
shaped, outlined with a band of
lace, The dress was designed with
a Hglft- fltMwff bodtar mrt* aap
sleeves made of lace. Two bands
of lace extended from the waist-
line down the sides and around the
bottom of the bouffant skirt. El-
bow length gloves were made of
matching net and lace and the veil,
attached to a bandeau of pearls
and sequins, was edged in lace
and extended over the face.
The bride carried a bouquet of
pink carnations and baby breath,
held together with long streamers
of white satin ribbon.
Lana Williamson, her sister's
only attendant, was attired in blue
organdy with white headdress. She
wore a corsage of white carna-
tions.
Sherri Williamson, another sister
of the bride, served as flower girl.
Joe Wilson was best man and ush-
ers were Ricky Williamson and
Gary Tucker, brothers of the bride
and bridegroom.

side Home Demonstration Club was
held Thursday, May 28, in the
home of Mrs, Glen Barbee. Busi-
ness was conducted by the presi-
dent, Mrs. Ed Johnscxi. Mrs. Doss
Maner was elected club delegate
for THDA. Chololate cake squares
and punch were served to Mmes.
Billy Williams, Clifford Williams,
Johnson and Barbee.
Mrs. Henry Waters of Pasadena
and Mrs. Granville Hill of Little-
field visited in the home of Mrs.
Bud Waters, Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Waters accom-
panied their son, Mr. and Mrs. Ivy
Waters on an extended trip during
the past week. They visited rela-
tives and friends in Childress, Fart
Worth, Arkansas and Oklahoma.
Mr. and Mrs. W. R. McDaniel
were in Lubbock Sunday afternoon
for a tea in the home of Tech
President Jones. They attended
baccalaureate services Sunday
night and graduation Monday night
for their son, Dwayne (Sonny) Mc-
Daniel.
Mr. and Mrs. E. Henry Warren
of Eloy. Ariz., visited the latter’s
sister, Mr. and Mrs. John L. Bur-
nett over the weekend. Also visit-
ing in the home were the Watsons
from Roaring Springs.
Mrs. Jr. Privett, the former Opal
Robertson, was in Whitharral brief-
ly Friday on her way to visit her
father, Ted Robertson who is ill
in New' Mexico. The Ted Robert-
sons formerly lived at Whitharral.
M. L. Johnson is visiting in the
home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
C. E. Johnson, during his vaca-
tion from West Texas State Col-
lege at Canyon.
Mr. and Mrs. Wade Strother have
moved their house to a farm near
Morton where they will make their
home.
Mrs. Aubrey Hudson visited her
daughter, Mrs. Bill Zapotny of Lub-
bock last week while Hudson was
fishing.
Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Havens and
son of Midland are visiting with
the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs.
E. P. Havins.
Mrs. Bud Harkey, the former Ol-
ga Ancinec, reports the birth, of a
boy, Alan Ray, bam May 24 in
Artesia, N. M. Olga is the daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ancinec.
Mrs. Ancinec left Saturday to spend
the week with her daughter and
son-in-law.
Capt. Hubert Spraberry and
family of Miami, Okla. are visiting
with the Hub Sprayyberrys and the
C. H. Billings family in Lubbock.
Capt. and Mrs. Sprayberry and Mr.
and Mrs. Hub Sprayberry were in
Amarillo Thursday night for the
graduation of the Hub Spraberry’s
grandson, Charles Smith.
Mrs. Jack Milbum underwent
surgery in the Phillips - Dupre
Hospital Friday, May 29.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Buck of
Amarillo visited the last week with
the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs.
A. P. Grant and other relatives.
Mrs. Tobe Hicks was here for
the graduation of her niece, Wan-
da Gay Polk. Mrs. Arthur Polk
and Mrs. M. D. Morgan accom-
panied Mrs. Hicks home to Jacks-
boro, where they remained a week
for a visit with relatives there.
Mrs. Theodore Priest and child-
ren visited in the home of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Grav-
itt from Saturday through Thurs-
day, Mrs. Gravitt accompanied her
daughter home to Clovis, N. M.
Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Smith and
children of Amarillo visited Mr. and
Mrs. Hub Sprayberry Sunday. Mrs.
Smith is a daughter of the Spray-
berrys. Also visiting in the home
was Ed D. Smith of Matador.

in Paducah over the weekend to
visit Slape’s mother.

For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs.
Williamson wore a dress of blue
with white accessories. Mrs. Tuck-
er. mother of the bridegroom, was
attired in black. Each wore a white
corsage.
A reception was held in Fellow-
ship Hall of the church, following
the wedding. Mrs. W. H. Power
registered the guests. The bride’s
table was laid with a white lace
cloth and appointments were of
milk glass and sterling. Pink tapers
and the bride's bouquet completed
the decor. The four - tiered wed-
ding cake, decorated in pink, was
topped with a miniature bridal cou-
ple. Pink punch and cake were
served by Mmes. Dave Bell and
Thad Henderson.
For a trip to Ruidoso, N. M. the
bride wore a dress of blue and a
corsage of pink and white carna-
tions.

LONDON (API—Nine convicted
murderers watched Queen Eliza-
beth II stroll slowly past them
Tuesday through a picturesque
English garden.
With the nine killers—all serv-
ing life sentences—were 11 other
prisoners in a working party from
London’s Wormwood Scrubs Jail.
The convicts and their guards
saw the Queen when she attended
a garden party commemorating
the 200th anniversary of the Royal
Botanic Gardens at Kew.
Elizabeth had been asked if the
convict laborers should be allowed
to work as usual at Kew during
her visit.
“Of course they can be there,”
she replied in effect. "Why not?
They are all my subjects.”
