Elect New Officers
The girls of the Mineola 4-H
Club' met Monday, Jan. 19, in
the junior high auditorium and
elected the following officers:
Cecile Bronscll, president; Jean-
ene Charles, vice-president;
Margaret Starnes, secretary-
treasurer; Elsie Goolsby, report-
er; Brenda Castloo, game lead-
er; and Beverly Bryce, song
leader.
Miss Dean Traylor, county
demonstration agent, gave a
demonstration on “How to Ar-
range Your Bedroom.” The girls
sang songs and played several
games before adjourning.

fined tp his home lor several
days with an eye infection that
has" temporarily impaired his
eyesight. *
Mrs. Hall Hostess
Pine Mills Club
The Pihe Mills Home Demon-
stration Club met Tuesday, Jan.
13, in the home of Mrs. Cleo
Hall.
The president, Mrs. Dewitt
Dobbs, called the meeting to
order. Roll call was ahswered
with “What I Can do to Improve
My Club.” Mrs. Dobbs gave a
talk on T.H.IXA. recommenda-
tions for 1953. The club voted
to pay 25c per member 'to the
T-HjD.A. funds.
Cake arid coffee were served
to Mmes. Dick Darden, Wiley
Bartlett, C. V. Sarver, George
Furrh, Donald Dobbs, Dorothy
Dyess, Maurice Turner, Dewitt
Dobbs, Doris Hughes and the
hostess.
The next meeting will be held
in the home of Mrs. Maurice
Turner on Tuesday, January 27.
Mrs. Coleman Hostess
Circle Twp Monday
Circle No. t^o of the W.S.C.S.
met in the home of Mrs. C. D.
Coleman Monday afternoon, Jan-
19, with ten members present.
Mrs. Weston Nelson, chairman,
presided over the meeting. Sun-
shine reports were made. Mrs.
Coleman, study leader, gave as
a devotional reports from the
World News sheet and prayer.
The lesson for the afternoon
was the second chapter of the
Mission Study book “African
Heritage,” showing that even
though the spread of Christiani-
ty has been slow much progress
is in evidence.
Refreshments were served and
a social hour followed. The riext
meeting will be at the home of
Mrs. Genie Crain.

munity and Mother Earth” and
Mrs. Grady Rape gave the third
chapter “Widening Educational
Needs.”

Party Honors
Johnny Cobbs
Johnny Cobbs was honored by
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L.
Cobbs, with a party on his sixth
birthday Tuesday afternoon. He
stood spell bound when the big
all day sucker his dad had pro-
mised him for weeks turned out
to a 20” red and white bicycle.
After playing games the cand-
les on his birthday cake were
lit and the group sang the birth-
day song. Favors of plastic boys
holding suckers were given the
children!
