The Sunshine Circle of the
Emory United Methodist Church
will host its annual stew lun-
cheon on Friday, October 2, from
11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Beef
and chicken stew will be served
with cake for dessert. Donations
only.
Point Fall Clean-up
Begins October 3
Keep Point Beautiful will
hold its city of Point Fall Clean-
up beginning October 3. KPB
will man the Precinct Yard in
Point from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00
p.m. where four dumpsters will
be available for the clean-up.
There is no charge. Open to city
of Point residents only.
Indoor Thrift Shop
Open Saturday
The Rains County Good
Samaritan Thrift Shop will have
a sale in its air conditioned build-
ing behind the public library on
Hwy. 69 N. Saturdays, October
3, 10, 17 and 24, from 8:30 a.m.
to 12:00 noon. Funds from the
sale go to purchase food for the
needy and operate the center.
The sale includes clothes for all
ages and sizes, and household
items and knickknacks. There is
new stock every week.
Annual Buck Watts
Singing October 3
The annual Buck Watts Sing-
ing will be held on' Saturday,
October 3, at 7:00 p.m. at the
Point Community Center. Dona-
tions will be accepted for the
benefit of the Point Lone Star
Cemetery. Everyone is welcome
to come and join in a great gos-
pel singing. The Point Ladies
Civqc Club will host the event
and refreshments will be served
after the singing.
Crappie Tourney at
Lake Fork Oct. 3,4
A $6,000 cash payout is guar-
anteed at the Crappie Tourna-
ment at Lake Fork to be held
October 3 and 4 sponsored by
the Lake Fork Sportsman’s Asso-
ciation. The tournament includes
Individual and Youth Divisions
and a special prize for the top
lady angler. The tournament will
be held at the Minnow Buck-
et Marina on Hwy. 154. More

hold their annual Fun Run and
Barbecue Benefit on Saturday,

Fairgrounds in Emory with reg-

singles and $35.00 for couples.
