The East Tawakoni Volunteer
Fire Department will hold its
annual Halloween event in East
Tawakoni on Saturday, October
31, beginning at 6:00 p.m. There
will be a bounce house, cake
walk, hot dogs, cold drinks, and
lots more. Bring your Trick-or-
Treat candy bag or bucket and
get ready for a fun time.

We have lost part of the fun
of Halloween Fall Festival and
other organized activities have
replaced the opportunity to get
some "real” treats hot cookies
straight from the oven, fudge
still so warm you could hardly
one inside: taking the neighbor
milk cow and staking her out

could not get into it in the wee
hours of the morning.
I am saddened that today's
kids will not have the opporm
stand to bite into it and most of
all. my mother's raised donuts

then coated with either confec-
tioner’s sugar or granulated sug-
ar as the recipient desired.
■ There was a line of kids
outside and into our house all
evening, waiting for fresh hot
donuts (better than any com-
mercial donut you ever tasted).
Some of them endured the line
twice to get another donut.
For me the greatest fun was
the tricks. Window rattlers
