CO-OP MEMBERS MAY NOW
FIX PRICE ON COTTON
IN BUREAU
Farm Bureau members, under
new contract now effective, may
designate day they want price
fixed.
A new Farm Bureau contract,
giving the member the privilege
of naming the day upon which
lie desihres the base price of his
cotton fixed, has been approved
by the Board of Directors of the
Texas Farm Bureau Association
and is now in effect. This-infor-
m&tion was received in Eldorado
today by J. A. Oneal, field ser-
vice representative, jihe new
contract he said, also gives the
member privilege of cancellation
at two year intervals, and in ad-
dition to the price fixation pool-
ing plan, still retains the regular
se asonal pool.
“Cotton shipped by the mem
btr to the price fixation pool in
the future can be sold and the
price fixed at any time designat-
eu by the member”. Mr. Oneai
saiu, assuring the member prac-
tically complete settlement at
any sspecified time. This assur-
ance will now enable the mem-
ber to make his financial arrange
ments along definite plans, and
the new contract from this view-
should also prove more unani-
mous endorsement and approval
oi, the part of business interests.
Under the new plan”, Mr.
Oneal stated, “the member ship-
ping cotton to the price fixation
pool draws the regular author-
ized advance, and when he fixes
tne price on his cotton practical-
ly a complete settlement is made
with him as soon as his cotton is
weighed and clased”. It is, in
fact, he said, the present market-
ing agreement of the Associat-
ion made more liberal. Mr. O-
neal is highly enthuastic over
the new features and states that
in his mind deliveries to the cot-
ton cooperative marketing as-
sociation in the future will show
titinendous increase. The new
plan, he stated, “removes factors
winch in the past have retarded
a greater growth”. The price
fixation pooling plan, it is said, ’$1.25 an dup.
is now in effect in all of the var-
marketing associations where

b. Quite commendable
work by various pupils of local

It is encouraging to find
a superintendent who is enough
interested in the history of our
state to assist in collecting its
historical material, while at the
same time he starts pupils on a
course of worthwhile achieve-
