West Texas. Without any pres-
sure from traditional cotton-
producing counties, the com-
mittee retched its decision to
distribute the 1956 acreage to
correct inequities nnd relieve
hardships This policy could
have come far toward restor-
ing to family fanners through-
out the state the acreage taken
away from them in the last
two years. For the selfish in-
terests to try to upset this
reasonable policy is uncalled
for, unrealistic and is a serious
threat to our agricultural econ-
omy. I have wired all members
of the state committee, urging
them not to be shaken fiom
their previous decision and to
adhere to their reported course,
which would do the greatest
good for the greatest number.”
The OCBA Wednesday after-
noon sent this wire to the
state committee;
“Accept our thanks and
gratitude. Stand firm. Right is
on your side and so aie the
people of Texas. You have Ihe
undying gratitude of thousands
of farmers for permitting them
to earn a living for themselves
and children.”

At Dallas Fair
The Randolph N. F. A. Chap-
ter took part in the livestock
exposition during the week of
Oct. 17 at the State Fair and
placed well at this big show.
John L. Moore showed a pen
of three fat Duroc barrows,
Willie Drisdale showed a fat
Duroc barrow and Frank Carl-
ton showed a fat Hampshire
barrow. A total of 10 hogs were
being fed out for the show and
five came through, according
to the adviser. All entries by
the La Grange boys made the
show ring, that is not one was
sifted by the sifting committee.
Places won were 2nd, 3rd,
5th and 9th. Awards were giv-
and an income of better
than $200 was received by the
N. F. A. boys. Each boy made
some profits, the biggest profit
being enjoyed by John H.
Moore, $48.02.
The feeding program was
made possible through the La
Grange State bank. A number
of short term loans were made
available to the N. F. A. stu-
dents. The chapter members
and adviser are grateful to the
bank and to its personnel for
the kind service rendered.
The chapter is busy with
plans to attend the San An-
tonio Livestock Exposition. A
total of 12 head of swine is be-
ing fed out at this time.
