McKINNEY - A 17-year-old
faces weapons and tampering
charges after a 14-year-old
friend fatally shot himself with a
gun that police say was provided
by the suspect.
Jordan Sharifi is charged as
an adult with evidence tamper-
ing, theft of a firearm and mak-
ing a firearm accessible to a child.
A McKinney police affidavit
says Sharifi told officers he gave
the stolen gun to Raymond Ho-
well Jr. for protection against
bullies.
Collin County jail records
show Sharifi was being held
Tuesday on $300,000 bond.

ney.

Motorist arrested on
DWI, marijuana charges
A traffic stop in the 2400
block of South Interstate 35E re-
sulted in the arrest of a 21-year-
old man on charges of driving
while intoxicated and posses-
sion of marijuana, Denton po-
lice said.
Police initially arrested him
on a DWI charge, then found 12.7
grams of marijuana in his vehi-
cle, according to police reports.

The winner of the Miss Ju-
nior Preteen Texas title wins a
cash prize of $1,000, a crown,
sash and bouquet. The winner
will represent her state for a year
and will go on to compete for the

The pageant is for girls ages 7
to 9, and Carnryn joins the other
contestants in formal wear mod-
eling, personal introduction, an
interview and community ser-
vice categories.

ton.
Admission is free on Friday
through Sunday. Sale hours are
9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and
Saturday. On Sunday, the sale

three contestants from the third

lice that his girlfriend, who lives
with him and is the mother of
his children, hit him in the face,
causing injury.
She was charged with family
violence assault and also had
three outstanding warrants, ac-
cording to police records.
