Griffin said Saturday she re-
mained hospitalized in stable
condition.
He said officers obtained and
executed a search warrant at the
residence and found the suspect,
who was the victim’s husband,
dead of an apparent self-inflict-
ed gunshot wound.
Troy Taylor, chief death in-
vestigator for Denton County,
identified the man as 51-year-old
William Boland Hunt.
Griffin said the case remains
under investigation.
If the investigation shows
Hunt shot his wife, then shot
himself, no charges would be
filed since he died, Griffin said.
Griffin said Flower Mound’s
last domestic disturbance in-
volving a shooting was on Sept.
25, when Daniel Fink, 41, alleg-
edly shot and killed his es-
tranged wife, Aide Fink.
Daniel Fink remains in Den-
ton County Jail on a murder
charge in lieu of $1 million bail.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP)
— A blind dog who wandered
away from her Ester home dur-
ing a cold snap has been reunit-
ed with her owner.
The 11-year-old Labrador re-
triever named Madera ventured
away from home on Feb. 6,
when the temperature dipped
below 40 degrees.
Her owner Ed Davis said he
didn’t expect to find her alive.
The Fairbanks Daily News-
has involved more camaraderie
than competition.
‘We’ve helped each other
out,” he said. “It’s like borrowing
a cup of sugar from your neigh-
knows we’re here.”
This is the second location
for Muddy Jake’s, which has
been open in Sulphur Springs
for five years.
Muddy Jake’s menu includes
chicken wings and sandwiches
and there are several beers on
tap. Fox said the bar’s food and
customer service sets it apart
from similar businesses nearby.
“You can get a drink and food
anywhere,” he said. We really
Miner reports a man riding a
bike accompanied by a bell-
wearing dog located Madera in
the woods last week, about a
half-mile from Davis’ home.
Davis said his dog lost 14
pounds but is in good health.
The man who rescued her,
Constantine Khrulev, asked for
the $100 reward money to go to
the Fairbanks Animal Shelter
Fund. Davis increased the dona-
tion to $250.

been steadily coming in, even

planning to host different events
in the coming weeks, including

He said the bar had a suc-
cessful soft opening last Satur-
day night and a steady stream of
customers since. He and co-
owner JB Paschal are planning a
grand opening in a few weeks.
“We had a great turnout,”
Slider said. “This whole thing
has been really exciting.”
Service Industry’s current
hours are 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., but
after the official grand opening,
Slider said the bar will open at 11
a.m. and offer a lunch menu.
Service Industry focuses on
craft cocktails and small plates,
with an emphasis on creating a
cozy but social atmosphere.
Slider and Paschal have
worked in bars around Denton
for several years and are known
in the local scene, which Slider
said helps business.
“JB and I have a lot of friends
and family,” she said. We have a
big crowd that we’re pulling
from.”
