Interesting Meeting:
On Monday evening, July
15, 18 members of the Wesley-
an Service Guild of the Travis
Street Methodist church met
at the , home of Mrs. Otilia
Psencik and Mis* Bernice

ular monthly meeting and so-
cial. The Rev. Leon Brown
was a guest.
The devotional was given by
Mrs. Minnie Brewton. Mrs.
Elizabeth von Minden had
charge of the program with
Mrs. Mary Maas, Mrs. Jewel
Brown, Mrs. Ruby Kelly, and
Mrs. Ruby Card having parts.
Mrs. Ellen Battelle was elec-
ted as a delegate to go to the
Guild Week-end at Mt. Wesley,
Kerrville, on Aug. 9, 10 and 11.
A Life Membership pin and
Certificate were presented to
Mrs. Mary Maas, treasurer, by
the president, Mrs. Gladys
Cronenberger.
Delicious refreshments were
served by the hostesses at the
conclusion of the tweeting.

Swiss Alp Club
Elects Mrs. Hagens
The Swiss Alp HD club met
at the Farm Bureau hall on
July 2. Nine members, one
visitor, Mrs. Wm. Mensik, and
Miss Nettie Mae Steglich, the
HD agent, were present. Mrs.
Mensik later became a mem-
ber.
Miss Steglich gave a demon-
stration on a cottage cheese
dip and a fruit punch. All mem-
bers enjoyed the refreshments
which were served from an
ironing board covered with an
attractive ruffled glazed cotton
material.
New officers for the coming
year were elected. They are:
Mrs. Emil Hagens, president;
Mrs. Geo. Sanders, viefe-presi-
dent; Mrs. Walter Wagner,-sec-
retary-treasurer; Mrs. C. M.

Mr. and Mrs. Allen Neumann of
Houston anounce the arrival of an
eight pound baby boy at a Houston
hospital on June 30. He was given
the name Veryl Oene and was wel-
comed by a sister, t Cindy Sue. The
mother is the former Miss Vernlce
Dippel. The grandparents are Mr.
and Mrs. Clinton Dippel of Hous-
ton and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Neu-
mann of Round Top. The haby has
three great grandmothers. Mrs. Lot-
tie Krause of Warrenton, Mrs. Jo-
hanna Dippel of Round Top and
Mrs. Neumann of Needvllle.

July 14, honoring their aon. Ronnie
Oene on his birthday, which was
on July 11. A number of Ronnie's
