Roy B. Inks
Roy B. Inks II is announcing he
is a candidate for Llano County
Commissioner Precinct 4.
I am 59 years old, a licensed real
estate broker and manager of the
Inks Ranch, a part of the original
Moss Ranch, in Southern Llano
County.
My wife Elizabeth, also known
as Petey, and I have four grown
children between us. 1 served as
a gunners mate in the Navy from
1966 - 1970 and graduated from
Southwest Texas State University
in 1972 with a bachelor of busi-
ness administration degree.
I started work in early 1973 with
the Texas Parks and Wildlife De-
partment and retired in 2000 with
28 years service. I started as a
survey crew member and became
a contracting specialist.
For the first five years I was sta-
tioned in the Austin Headquar-
ters; for the last 23 years I was
the Region Six maintenance su-
pervisor stationed in Kerrville.
My job consisted of natural re-
source stewardship and infra-
structure maintenance of 14 to 17
state parks from Brownwood to
Uvalde and Del Rio to Lampasas.
Enchanted Rock LBJ SHS, Inks
Lake SP, Colorado Bend SNA,
and The Nimitz Museum of the
Pacific War were some of my
responsiblity.
My job was to identify, docu-
ment, determine the project lim-
its, find suitable funding pro-
grams, and see to the completion
of funded projects. I prepared and
maintained budgets on projects
valued from a few thousand dol-
lars to more than $750,000.
I have worked with many types
of budget systems from compli-
cated and all inclusive computer
driven systems to simple double
entry bookkeeping, to zero-based
budgets and more.
At one time I held such state
certifications as; State Safety Of-
ficer, Surface Water Operator - C;
Ground Water Operator - C;
Waste Water Operator- C; Solid
Waste Disposal- D; Pesticide
Applicator - Right of Way and
Certified Septic Tank Installer.
I have been trained in pavement
maintenance; trench safety sys-
tems; underground storage tank
(UST) maintenance and removal
and confined space entry. I also
hold a Commercial Drivers Li-
cense (CDL) with all endorse-
ments except; hazardous materi-
als.
I believe the citizen* of Llano
County deserve a government
that is not overly intrusive on their
lives or pocket books. I believe
government should be responsive
and with accountability at every
level.
I believe fiscal responsiblity
coupled with accountability can
help reduce government waste
and increase efficiency.
I look forward to serving Llano
County.
Campaign Treasurer Petey Inks.
