Cockrell, living near Yonng, died
last Monday, and was bnried in
the Rehoboth cemetery Tuesday.
She was abont 23 years old, and
was the danghter of the late W. H.

City last week to endeavor to have
some of Texas’ volunteer soldiers
mustered' out of service. Judge
Cravens spoke an hour and thirty
minutqp upon the various issues of
the day, to an appreciative audi-
ence.

DEATH OF ALBERT FRYER.
The sad intelligence was re.
ceived here last Saturday of the
death of Mr. Albert Fryer, of
typhoid fever, at Chickamauga
Park, Ga. Deceased was well
known here having A>een born and
reared within three miles of Fair-
field, and was highly esteemed by
all who knew him. He was aboo$
28 years of age, and waa the oldest
aon of Mrs. Lizzie Fryer, living
three miles east of Fairfield. He
attended a coarse of lectures last
year at a medical oollege and abont
two months ago received an. ap-
pointment in the hospital oorpe of
the army, aud enlisted at Galves-
ton, from which place he waa soon
transferred to Chiokamanga Park,
where his untimely death occurred
last Saturday.
Our ainoere sympathy is-extend-
ed to the bereaved family.
