Police: Mother-daughter
spat involves knives
A mother and daughter
broke out the cutlery as they ar-
gued Monday night, according
to a police report.
Denton police were dis-
patched to a residence in the
6000 block of Penina Trail in
reference to a domestic distur-
bance a little before 8 p.m. The
caller reported that she and her
mother got into a fight. The cal-
ler cursed at her mother and the
mother came at her with two
knives, the report said.
Officers who arrived were told
by the caller that she was doing
dishes and had argued with her
mother. According to the report,
the mother pushed the daughter,
who pointed out that she had a
butter knife in her hand. In re-
sponse, the mother allegedly put
her hand around the daughter’s
throat, grabbed a kitchen knife
that was on the counter and
threatened her with it.
No arrests were made, ac-
cording the report.
Other reports
300 block of Fry Street —
Denton police were called to a
vehicle that had its back window
broken Monday.
400 block of South Trin-
ity Road — Denton police were

that had just occurred. Accord-
ing to the police report, multiple
persons had been involved in a
physical altercation in front of
their trailers. No other details
were available from the report.
2200 block of South
Loop 288 — A man reported to
Denton police on Monday that
his work van had been stolen.
The caller was unsure if he had

there were no security cameras
present near the scene Monday,
according to a police report.

“A lot of the logic espoused
made no sense last night.
Several of the candidates
said that debt levels were
fine. They said that they
were fine because the
citizens approved roughly 70
percent of the outstanding
debt. Ergo, as long as citi-
zens approve a measure, the
candidates must abide by it
because it is the will of the
people.

Task force recommends
gun-carry policy for Tech
A Texas Tech University task

to govern the carrying of hand-

In a statement Tuesday, Tech

The policy would ban fire-

ignated research laboratories,
