Chinese New Year
The Tuition Promise Fund
enrollment for 2015-16 tuition
prices at Texas public colleges
and universities closes Monday.
This deadline extends to July 31
for children younger than one.
The next annual enrollment
period begins Sept. \ with new
contract prices based on Texas
public college costs for the 2016-
17 academic year.
The program allows partici-
pants to purchase tuition units
based on current prices and
avoid future increases in the cost
of undergraduate tuition and re-
quired fees at Texas public col-
leges and universities.
Under the plan, families can
prepay tuition and required fees
for a four-year degree, two years
of community college or just a
few semesters at Texas public
colleges and universities by pur-
chasing tuition units.
Complete plan information,
current prices, enrollment
forms and more are available
online at TuitionPromise.org, or
by calling 1-800-445-GRAD
(4723), Option 5.

Liberty Christian’s Mandarin
Club celebrated the Chinese
New Year on Feb. 9 as nearly 30
members met for a luncheon
featuring Chinese delicacies, in-
cluding fried rice prepared by
Mandarin I and II students.
At the luncheon, students
learned about the culture and
traditions of Chinese New Year,
led by Mandarin Club president
Sean Iiu and fellow student

They shared fun facts about
the Year of the Monkey and tra-

holiday.
Mandarin students extended
the celebration in the classroom
by making their own Chinese
couplets and learning how to
write spiritual blessings about
God’s love and pondering upon
his love for the new year using
some Chinese calligraphy
brushes.
