Report: Man arrested for
using false check
A 47-year-old man was ar-
rested Monday evening and
charged with forgery of a finan-
cial instrument after attempting
to use a stolen check at Cliff’s
Check Cashing Store in the 700
block of Fort Worth Drive, ac-
cording to a police report.
When police contacted the
man, he said he got the check
from an unknown woman. He
also told police he had been re-
leased from jail three days earlier.
Police then contacted the
check’s owner, who said she re-
cently opened a new bank ac-
count and was still waiting for
her checkbook. She said she had
not written any new checks, ac-
cording to the report.
The man was taken to Den-
ton City Jail, and his bond was
set at $2,500.
Other reports
500 block of South Trin-
ity Road — A 37-year-old man
told police Monday afternoon
that an acquaintance stole his
black 1991 Ford F-150 during a
test drive, according to a police
3300 block of Camino
Real Trail — A woman told po-
lice Monday morning that her
husband stabbed her before po-
lice found out she stabbed her-
self, according to a police report.
The report did not include the
extent of her injuries. The inci-
dent was listed as a false alarm,
and no arrests were made.
3100 block of Duchess
Drive — A caller told police at
about 5 p.m. Monday that he
saw a man chasing a crying
woman down the street. The re-
port did not have further details.
1200 block of Cordell
Street — A 20-year-old woman
reported Monday that her back-
pack was stolen from her car
sometime between 10 p.m. Sat-
urday and 10 p.m. Sunday while
it was parked in the street.
The backpack contained her
laptop, school supplies and wal-
let, a police report said. No ar-
rests were made at the time of
the report.

father spanked her, according to
a police report. No arrests were

through Oct. 23 at Dallas' Fair Park.
This year's theme is “Celebrating
Texas Agriculture.” Daily activities
include rides, games on the midway,
the Starlight Parade at 7:15 p.m. and
