Winkler county oil operators inter-
ested In the new north extension
brought about by the Otbson and
Johnson wildcat completion, meet-
ing here today urged the*' Texas
Railroad Commission to make such
studies and take such steps In meet-
ing the situation and preventing
waste as their judgment should dic-
tate. Without any strings on the
recommendations. It was the most
sweeping which has yet been made
by operators to the commission on
a given problem.
Discussion prior to adoption of the
motion indicated that' mast opera-
tors think an absolute shutdown of
a temporary nature should be order-
ed to. give time tor a study of the
situation, possibly foe a hearing and
taking of testimony, and for con-
ference with New Mexico land own-
ers and operators and the state and
interior department conservation
authorities having Jurisdiction in
that state. [1
Operators speaking at the meet-
ing today expressed belief that tho
Gibson and Johnson' well appeared
to be aft edge well, probably , to the
Southwest. (
Operators also urged that the pre-
sent Winkler county advisory com-
mittee act in the same capacity for

Byrd brought In the Moody No. 1.
In the new Santa Anna field, has
leased 70 acres of the Parker estate,
embracing the mountain, and has
made a location on the mountain
top. Drilling will start, he states,
within the next week or so.
Daniel is moving In now (or a test
on the Payne tract, about a mile
south of Thrifty. .
