when arrested, a 25 year old man
was arrested here today as police

threat against the life of Governor
Elect James V. Allred. *
Tlie man. booked for drunkenness

motor sales company in Taylor, was
arrested in Austin by Ranger Wal-

Rangers and police first learned
of the reputed attempt upon Allred
from the Rev. Charles C. Robinson
of Austin, through a Mrs. Wilson,
whose initials could not be immed-
iately learned, is also from Taylor.
She had stopped at a filling station
between here and Taylor, and had
been told by the attendant at the
station of the man driving toward
Austirt with the high powered rifle
>n his car.
The filling station attendant told
her the man thrti was so drunk he
could hardly drive his car.
She cdoted the attendant as say-

promised him a job but had not giv-

he was going to kill - Allred.
The filling station attendant had
taken the number of the car. Mrs.
Wilson at once phoned Dr. Robin-
son, whc relayed the information
to ranger headquarters and police.

An appropriation of approxi-

been held up pending completion

Until this plant is completed”, the

Completion of the treating plant

The Record was unable to learn
whether or not the $6,000 appro- j

be held up pending decision by
the state commission on the re-
