health care; and (3) a directive to
physicians, which indicates choices
as to the extent of life-saving
measures to be used if the need
should arise. Nita will be glad to
supply these forms for your use.
Either write her at Route 1, Box

Council Sets
Meeting To
Decide Fate
Of Chief Perry
A full house at Teague City
Hall waited about an hour for the
City Council s decision concerning
allegations about Police Chief Bob
Perry after the Council met in
Executive Session on Tuesday
afternoon at City Hall.
Once the meeting was reopened
to the public. City Councilman
James Hcrringion made a motion
stating "I move that a special
meeting be called for the purpose of
considering adverse employment
action against Chief Bob Perry, up
to and including termination of
employment with Mayor Busby
setting the date as soon as
possible.” Herrington’s motion also
stated, "This will be in Executive
Session unless Chief Perry requests
an open meeting, and to also
authorize Mike Dixon to forward
necessary notice of allegations to
Chief Perry, along with whatever
supporting documents he deems
necessary." The motion was
seconded by Councilman John Lee
Smith.
Mayor Busby said after the
meeting that it would probably be a
couple of weeks before the meeting
is held. Busby also said that
Attorney Bob Gage resigned from
representing the City in the case.
Busby added that Waco Attorney
Mike Dixon will now be handling
the legal interests for the City.
A number of citizens have
blasted the city council for not
revealing the facts in the case,
which is being done by the council
to protect the rights of the
individuals involved in the case.
The press is not allowed in
Executive Session meetings nor or
tliose involved in the meetings
allowed to talk about what occurs
in the meetings.
