are composed of local church
members, skilled gospel singers,
who perform regularly in their

NO PRESENTS PLEASE......YOUR PRESENCE IS HER REWARD
-By Pam Grissett-
Our dedication ceremony was a
great success, we had numerous
blessings on this day, most of all
we received some much needed
rain.
Ms. Bessie Ham was presented
with a plaque of appreciation by
Bro. Ray Grissett, and then Bro.
Ray presented the church with pre-
ccntcnnial plaque.
Corinth Missionary Baptist
Church is so lucky to have such a
history of how the Lord worked
for 98 years. Our first minister
was Bro. G.W. White of Dew, Ms.
Beene is the granddaughter of this
famous man. Bro. White was a 2
term legislature for Freestone
County, and while talking with
Ms. Beene she told me he was
blind and preached until 1933.
There was a lot about this little
community of Dew that makes this
church stand out, most important
the wonderful people. My husband
and I have known most of these
people for a number of years and
they arc always willing and able to
lend a hand, so I know that this is
why the Lord blessed this church
in such a glorious way. Few small
churches can claim a record of 98
years without ever closing. Here is
a list of pastors that served our
church from 1894-1992:
Bro. G.W. While - First Pastor
Bro. J.W. Richardson, Bro. J.L.
Walker, Bro. J.W. Hamilton, Bro.
H.L. McKissack, Bro. M.M.
Sheets, Bro. Frederick, Bro. Bea-
sley, Bro. Freddie Folk, Bro. R.L.
Ryburn, Bro. Robert Christian,
Bro. Dwight Atchley, Bro. Bobby
Thompson, Bro. George Jordan,
Bro. M.M. Wilson, Bro. Johnny
Veretto, Bro. Ray Grissett, Jr.,
present pastor.
Our youth think the world of
our church family.
Ms. Bessie and Ms. Ilena Long
arc long standing members and are
always going to be remembered in
our prayers and hearts.
