Veteran Benefits from the Federal
Government but the Stale of Texas
has a veteran benefit program, ad-
ministered by the Texas Veterans
Commission, a state agency which
direct and gives guidance to veteran
county service officers (who serve
under the jurisdiction of County Judge
and County Commissioners). This
system wascrcated to serve the needs
of the Texas veterans and depend-
ents. We help in obtaining benefits
pensions, compensations, federal
housing, state schools, educational
programs, institutions, orphanages
and nursing homes. We also assist in
providing aid in filing for state bene-
fits. Following list will give some
ideas of the Texas Benefits.
* Educational assistance (Hazle-
wood Act) state pays tuition and fees
at state supported school, to war time
veterans who have exhausted bene-
fits through the regular Federal G.I.
Bill. Dependents of veterans who
were killed on active duty or die from
injury or disease are all eligible for
assistance.
Texas wartime veterans have
preference in employment with state
agencies and also widows and chil-

Eighth Avenue Baptist Church
will be holding Revival Services
beginning Sunday morning, Septem-
ber 8, 1991 and continuing through
Wednesday, September 11, 1991.
The Sunday morning service will
begin at 10:45 a m. and the evening
service will be at 6:30 p.m. The
weekday services will be held twice
daily. The morning service will begin
at 12:00 p.m. followed by lunch from
12:30 to 1:00 p.m. The evening
service will begin at 7:00 p.m. each
night.

Billy Grayson
Fune ral serv ices for B i 11 y G ray son
were held Saturday, August 31,1991
at the First Street Holland Baptist
Church in Buffalo with Elder Lee
Brown officiating.
Grayson passed away Tuesday,
August 27th in the Buffalo Nursing
Home. He was born March 15, 1908
in Jewett, Texas to John and Jennie
Austin Grayson.
Grayson was an active member
of the Masonic Lodge #38 in Buffalo
and was united in holy matrimony to
Ms. Elzady Williams on September
3, 1980.
Survivors include his wife, Elzady
Grayson of Buffalo. Seven children:
Mrs. Sanaihia Riley, Mrs. Jessie
Cunningham, Mrs. Nioma Wrcnn of
Dallas, Mrs. Ccola Wheeler, Mrs.
Ruthic Boulden of Corsicana, Mrs.
Lois Glover of Houston, and Mr.
Nathaniel Henderson of Buffalo. Two
brothers: Mr. Johnny Grayson of
Jewett and Mr. Tommy Grayson of
Fort Worth. One Sister: Savannah
Birdowof Palestine. Eighteen grand-
children, fifteen great grandchildren
and a host of nieces, nephews, rela-
tives and friends.
Emanuel Funeral Home was in
charge of the arrangements.
