is completed sooner, TxDOT
said.
Drivers should expect delays
and are encouraged to take al-
ternate routes if possible.
The Denton Teen Council is
raising money for its activities
with the Cool Beans Layer Run
and Chili Cook-Olf on Saturday
morning at South Lakes Park.
Participants in the 5K ‘layer”
run/walk are encouraged to
come dressed in several layers of
clothing and remove those extra
layers during the race to donate
to a local charity.
Organizers hope enough
groups sign up for the chili cook-
olf that runners/walkers can en-
joy and judge the chili at the end
of the race.
Through the council, Denton
youth ages 13-18 learn about lo-
cal government and develop
their own leadership skills. The
council is a city-sponsored pro-
gram.
