BLOTTER
Woman facing five charges
after slow-speed chase
A 25-year-old Denton wom-
an is facing two felony charges
and three misdemeanors follow-
ing a slow-speed chase Wednes-
day from Denton to Lewisville,
according to
Texas Depart-
ment of Public
Safety spokes-
man Lonny
Haschel.
Deborah
Thompson
was taken to
Denton Coun-
ty Jail about 9 a.m. on charges of
aggravated assault with a deadly
weapon, evading arrest with a
vehicle, resisting arrest, posses-
sion of marijuana and driving
with an invalid license. Her bail
totals $110,000 for all the charg-
for an unspecified traffic viola-
tion on North Loop 288 in Den-
ton, Haschel said.
Thompson avoided police
and led them toward Interstate
35E, where she continued south
toward Lewisville, Haschel said.
When she entered Lewisville
city limits, a Denton County
Sheriff’s Office deputy got out of
his patrol unit and deployed tire
deflation equipment.
But Thompson, he said,
drove around the equipment
and forced the deputy to jump
out of the way. A trooper then
disabled the vehicle by shooting
out its tires with his sidearm,
Haschel said.
The chase ended at 8:44 a.m.
on Interstate 35E near Main
Street in Lewisville. Thompson
was the only person in the vehi-
Denton police responded to
the scene when the 39-year-old
man refused to leave the store
about 8 p.m. He initially was ar-
rested on active warrants for so-
licitation, failure to appear in
court, no driver’s license and
driving with an expired vehicle
registration.
Police also cited him for pos-
session of drug paraphernalia
and issued a notice of criminal
trespassing.
5000 block of Sabre
Drive — Two propellers were
reported stolen from an aircraft
supply store on Wednesday at
Denton Enterprise Airport, ac-
cording to a police report.
The supply store was identi-
fied in the report as CFDI Aero.
Police were initially called to the
scene about 5 p.m., but the exact
time the propellers were stolen
is unclear.
The report did not provide
further information.
2400 block of Old North
Road — A 25-year-old man
said he was threatened for mon-
ey after submitting nude images
to an online dating application.
The man told police about 9
a.m. Wednesday a suspect con-
nected to the app then threat-
ened to send the nude images to
friends and family if he did not
send money.
Police documented the inci-
dent but did not make any ar-
rests.
