Bryan Bible Class
Yule Social Given
In Gearheart Home
As guests arrived at the home of
Mrs. |W. J- Gearheart for the Bryan
Bible Class social Tuesday even-
ing, they had pictures of toys pin-
ned on their backs and when the
tow yas guessed the wearer found
a number of the back of- the pic-
ture which served as her key to
a Christmas gift on the lovely tree.
Mrs. Hubert Gadberry directed
the games which were enjoyed af-
ter the Lord’s Prayer was repeated.
White tapers glowed softly over
the game rooms which were deco-
rated appropriately for the occa-
sion. '
On therefreshment plate were
red jell-o squares and individual
angel food squares iced in white.
Favors wdre minature candles,
tied with red ribbon, which were
lgihted {is the plates ' were served.
Sharing hostess duties with Mrs.
Gearheart were Mesdames Guy
Bryan, Fred Bentley, S. Lynch,
Arthur Holt and Crawford. Thirty-
four members attended.

Three guests attended the As You
Like It., -Club Christmas party
TDTeiday afternon when Mrs. Joe
Campbell was hostess in her home
which was decorated in traditional
manner for the occasion.
During the afternoon games of
“84” were played and gifts were
exchanged.
Refreshments were served to Mes-
dames E. G. Thornton, N. D. Gold-
smith, H. C. McKinney, W. C.
Harrell, E. W. Hunt, William Thom-
as, J. P. Alexander, J. F. Hollis,
T. S. Guimarin and Wright Mc-
Clatchy, members; R. P. Brouther-
tin, L. E. Perkins and Miss Sadie
Moore.
For their next meeing the club
will meet Jan. 13 with Mrs. Gold-
smith.
W. B. Hicks Given
Party Friday on
Seventh Birthday
W. B. Hicks was- honored on his
seventh birthday when his mother,
Mrs. Clyde Hicks, entertained with
a party Friday evening.
Red, white and blue decorations
were used and this motif was re-
peated in the birthday cake.
Games were played, a sing song
enjoyed and thenthe gifts were
opened.
Refreshments were served to
Bruce Harbour, Jimmy Acker, Bud-
dy Hicks, Paul Lawrence, Sylvia
Sullivan, Johnnye Ann Hicks and
Vera Sparks.
Picnic Lunch Served
Sunbeam Members
Fallowing Program
Following their program Monday
afternoon, Sunbeam Band members
of the First Baptist Church enjoyed
a picnic lunch served in the base-
ment.
Their program, directed by Mrs.
J. C. Eustace and Mrs. Clyde Hicks,
was opened with their song and
prayer after which the books of
the Bible were repeated and Mrs.
Eustace retold the story of Lot’s
choice. Sentence prayers were given
for dismissal.
Those present were Malta Lee
Evans, Buddy Hicks, Mike Myers
Sylvia Sullivan, George Wayne
Smith, Allen Myers, Ann Harrison,
Ann Robertson, Jimmy Acker and
Charles Cummings.
Gifts Exchanged as
Jolly Time Meets in
Home of Mrs. Doyle
Exchanging gifts as is their cus-
tom at their annual Christmas
party, Jolly Time Club members
were entertained Wednesday after-
noon in the home of Mrs. Marvin
Doyle.
Mrs. M. E. Buck scored high and
Mrs. E. B. Andrews low in the
games of “42” which formed the di-
version for the afternoon.
Others present were one guest,
Mrs. T. E. Faver, and Mesdames N.
L. King, C. A. Tanner, Virgil Handy,
C. C. Farabee, H. D. McCain, Pres
Hudson, Will Ellis, James Vaught
and Lee Allen.
The club will meet next on Dec.
30 with Mrs. Allen as hostess.
BANQUET IS PLANNED
Members of the G. A. and R. A.
will be served a Christmas banquet
at 7:30 o’clock Friday evening at
the First Baptist Church. Gifts
will be exchanged during the pro-
gram which will include a talk by
the pastor, Rev. !W. H. Townsend.
Mrs. Walt Williams and children
were in Fort Worth for the week-
end where they were guests of
Mrs. Ernest Livingston and chil-
dren.

Mrs. Harry Stokes of Oklahoma
City arrived Sunday and visited
until Wednesday with her mother,
Mrs. Elizabeth Conor, who is ill.
Mrs. Clyde Hicks has been no-
tified that her sister, Mrs. John
Hutchins of Oklahoma City, has
undergone major surgery in the St.
Anthony Hospital there. Mrs.
Hutchins visited her sister here
this summer and made a number of
friends.

Turkey Dinnek to
Tuesday Niter \Club
A comparatively new Vlub for
Olney is the Tuesday Niters which
meets each Tuesday evening for
games of “42”. Their ChVistmas
party was an event of this \week
when Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Ford en-
tertained in their home.
Turkey dinner was served after
which “42” was played and then
gifts exchanged. Candy walking
canes were given as favors. For the
occasion the playing rooms were
beautifully decorated in the festive
spirit.
Guests were Mrs. Willie Lee
Casey, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Page,
Jack Latson and Bob Barnett.
Members attending were Mr. and
Mrs. W. T. Cox, Mr. and Mrs. Earl
Nunnely, Mrs. Melvin Knox and
Mrs. Bernice Barnett.
The club will not meet next
week, due to the Christmas holi-
days, but in two weeks Mr. and
Mrs. Solon Glover will entertain.
Mrs. Robert B. Allison left Wed-
nesday for Whitewright to visit
her mother, Mrs. W. M. Smith, who
is ill.
Personality Club Has
Christmas Party in
Robertson Home
Freshman Personality Club mem-
bers enjoyed their Christmas party
Friday evening in the home of
Mrs. E. F. Robertson, mother of
a club member, Marjorie Ann Rob-
ertson.
The Christmas motif was noted
in the decorations for the living
rom where there was also a light-
ed tree. Games and contests were
staged during the evning after
which Santa Claus appeared to lead
the group in singing carols with
Mrs. Robertson as accompanist.
Gifts were then distributed to
everyone present, including Mrs.
Robertson.
Refreshments were served to

ty Hays, Dorothy Huskey, Faye
Norris, Colleen Butler, Frances

Two Events With
Fort Belknap Dinner.
Sunday was a double anniversary
for J. R. Handy and the events
were celebrated when 28 members
of the family ate dinner at Fort
Belknap. Sunday was Mr. Handy’s
seventy-second birthday and also
the date of Mr. and Mrs. Handy’s
fiftieth wedding anniversary.
Present for the day were Mr.
and Mrs. J. O. Handy and children,
Mr. and Mrs. V. D. Handy and
children, Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Buck
and children, Mr. and Mrs. J. P.
Hudson and children, Mr. and Mrs.
Lawrence Crain and children, Billy
McCain and Mrs. Jim Harless.
ATTEND FORUM DANCE
Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Brouther-
tin, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs.
Joe Wooten of Graham, attended
the Forum Club membership dance
in Wichita Falls Monday evening.
