MRS. ALBERT BOYD CARNLEY
Brauner-Carnley Wed
In LaGrange Ceremony
Dianne Elizabeth Brauner of Taylor
and Albert Boyd Camley of Austin were
married Saturday afternoon, June 13,
during a Nuptial Mass at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church in La Grange. Msgr.
Harry Mazurkiewicz, pastor, officiated
the double ring ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Brauner, Jr., of La Grange and
Mr. and Mrs. Boyd H. Camley of Sher-
man. The bride’s grandparents are Mr.
and Mrs. Ed. A. Dybala of Ganado and
Mrs. F.E. Wiegreffe of La Grange. Mrs.
Maxie Smithwick of Arlington, former
OIney resident, is the groom’s grand-
mother.
The altar of the church was decorated
with a pair of tree candelabras holding
tapers and decorated with spring bou-
quets of daisies, pink pixies, rosario
alstroemeria, purple statice and babies
breath.
Given in marriage by her father, the
bride wore a formal sheath gown of
white satin and re-embroidered lace
designed with a sweetheart neckline
dipping to a veed back. Leg of mutton
sleeves were accented by a satin bow
above the elbow. A basque bodice and
the sleeves were embellished with
beaded lace designs. A satin peplum
accented the back waistline. The detach-
able cathedral length train was edged
with wide lace and pearls.
The bride carried a crescent shaped
cascading bouquet with pale pixies,
white roses, purple statice and English
ivy centered with a star-gazer lily.
Attending her sister as matron of
honor was Carol Smolik of El Campo.
Bridesmaids were Laurie Chilek, Den-
ise Henderson, Lisa Drab and Aimee
Koehl, all of La Grange, Toni Dybala of
Houston, cousin of the bride, and
Brooke Olm of San Antonio. Their two-
piece dresses of wood violet moire faille
were made by the bride’s maternal
grandmother, Mrs. Ed. A. Dybala. The
semi-fitted top featured short pleated
pouf sleeves, a flared peplum and a bow
at the back waistline and was worn over
a fitted tea-length skirt. Their petite
crescent bouquets were cascades of rose
pink pixies, purple statice, white daisies,
babies breath rosario alstroemeria and
English ivy.
Allison Brauner and Joe Brauner of
Sunrise, Fla., niece and nephew of the
bride, were flower girl and ring bearer.
Boyd H. Camley served his son as
best man. Groomsmen were Clif
Camley of Van Alstyne, brother of the
groom, Mike McMillan of Lewisville,
Brian Pitman and Terry Housewright,
both of Sherman, Duncan Cox of New
Orleans, La., and Edward Roberson of
Austin. Ushers were Joe Ciaccio of
Denison, brother-in-law of the groom*
Mike Schmuelgen of Carrollton, ahg
Frank E. Brauner of Sunrise, Fla., and
Mark Brauner of Austin, brothers of the
bride.
Other attendants included Mr. and
Mrs. Wesley Smolik of El Campo,
brother-in-law and sister of the bride as
witnesses.
Dinner reception and dance followed
the wedding at the Knight’s of Colum-
bus Center in La Grange hosted by the
parents of the bride. Dance music was
provided by Michael Craig of Taylor
and Mr. and Mrs. Tim Dybala of Sugar-
land led the grand march.
The bride is a graduate of Southwest
Texas State University and teaches sec-
ond grade for the Taylor Independent
School District. The groom graduated
Austin Community College and is a free
lance illustrator.
Following a wedding trip to Cancun,
Mexico, the couple lives in Round
Rock.
Southside Baptists
Set Bible School
Southside Baptist Church will be
taking a “Fantastic Journey” from July
20 through July 24.
The journey will include its summer
highlight, Vacation Bible School with
Bible stories, games and activities, and
time with teachers of all age children.
The school will begin at 6 p.m. and
conclude at 9 p.m. The theme of “Fan-
tastic Journey” will be celebrating the
500th anniversary of Columbus’ dis-
covery of America.
In order to launch this year’s VBS, the
Church is conducting a Frontyard Fun
Festival at 5 p.m. Monday, July 20. This
will be a time of games, contests, and
dividing into classes for Bible studies
during the remainder of the week.
Children of all ages are invited to
attend. Classes will be offered for pre-
schoolers through those who are in High

PERFORM SUNDAY
Pastor Mike Allen, of the OIney As-
sembly has announced a performance
by former OIney residents, Todd and
Missy Peterson, now of Irving, during
the Sunday, July 12, morning services.
He will be singing and playing the elec-
tronic piano and sharing in a time of
praise and worship at the 10:30 a.m.

Gary and Tracy Deck of Watauga are
parents of a son, Travis Allen, bom July
1, in a Bedford hospital. He weighed
nine pounds, one ounce. Grandparents
are Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Robinson of
OIney and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Deck of
Sari Antonio. Great grandmothers are
Faye Wages and Opal Robinson of
OIney and Dorthy Gravell of San Anto-
nio; Lee Bishop of OIney is his great,

DRIVER LICENSE
SERVICE RESUMES
Texas Department of Public Safety
announced last week that the OIney
driver license office will be open the
first and third Wednesdays each month.
The license officer will be at the Hous-
ing Authority senior building, 1006
Arbor Drive from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and
1 to 4 p.m. those two days each month.
OIney Community Library presently
carries an all-in-one reference service
on current American federal and state
governments. This service has nine dis-
tinct features including a toll free tele-
phone service to obtain quick, accurate
facts on a wide range of topics concern-
ing federal or state government.
Today, almost everything we do is
affected by government This service
can provide copies of bills, biographies
of government officials or presidential
candidates, Supreme Court decisions,
speeches, statistics and much more on
which state or federal government has
compiled data. The data must be of
public record.
For each request that requires photo-
copies of information, the first five
pages of the photocopied materials are
free. Therafter, the cost is 250 per pho-
tocopy.
A sampling of questions asked by
subscribers throughout the country are:
1. Please send me a copy of my state’s
“Lemon Law”.
2. What is the current national debt?
3. Send me a short biography of Bill
Clinton.

Attend Show
OIney Retired Teachers and guests
attended a performance of Cole Porter’s
“Kiss Me Kate”, at the Granbury Opera
House, July 3. Prior to the performance,
those attending enjoyed an arts and
crafts show and lunch at the Nutt house.
The production accompaniment in-
cluded Ginny Crosthwait at keyboards.
This is the third summer to play for the
Opera House for the senior English
major at the University of Texas. She is
the daughter of Tony and Jeannie
Crosthwait, former OIney residents.
Among those attending were Juanita
Furr and her sister, Dorothy Jones of
Arlington, Eddie and Elwanda Gaw,
Guy and Joanne Holder, Martin and
Juanita Schlegel, Lanell Snow, Bernice
Stevens, DeWayne andEva Joy Strealy,

scott, Ruth Wallace, Hazel Weaver,

Birthday Party
Honors Eva Young
Mrs. Eva Young was honored Sun-
day, July 5, with a family luncheon and
party celebrating her 85th birthday.
Hosts for the party held in the Senior
Citizen Room on Arbor were her chil-
dren, Charles and Nanette Young of
Abilene and W.L. and LaVeme Young
of Arlington.
A lifetime resident of the Megargel
and OIney area, Mrs. Young has five
grandchildren and seven great grand-
children, all of whom attended the party.
A birthday card from President and Mrs.
Bush was included among other well-
wishes.
