“Evaluation of Our Educational
| Product” was the topic of the pro-
gram of the Gamma Zeta Chapter
I of the Delta Kapra Gama meet-
ing in Tolar on Saturday. Mrs.
Myrtle Deavenport served as
chairman. Mrs. Alda Daniell was
i the administration representative,
I and Mias Velma Stidham repre-
j sented elementary teachers with
I Mrs. Lucille Duke, secondary and
Miss May Jones college teacher
repreaentative of the panel.
The panel discussed present
| trends and attention given to the
i talented students, retarded stu-
dents and to the need for giving
motivation and stimulation to get
students to study. Way* of en-
couraging pupils to think as in-
1 dividual* and way* of training stu-
dents td 4are for school ffioperty
and supplies were other items of
[ discussion.
Miss Estelle Cherry and Mrs.
Lillian Hughes were hostesses at
the meeting in the dining room of
the cafe at Tolar. Pie and coffee
I were served.
Miss Frances Clay presided at
the business session when reports
from the Special Scholarship Com-
mittee were heard. It was learned
that the chapter quota is about
| complete. The president urged that
j a local chapter member apply for
| the $2500 scholarship to be grant-
ed to some Texas person for ad-
vance study. Fifty-five such schol-
| arthips will be awarded to one per-
| son from each state and province
j where Delta Kappa Chapters exist.

, plans for the Christmas dinner at
j the VJ’ Cafeteria in Comanche in
December.

is the development and growth oi
the FBI from a struggling organi-
zation in 1924 to the outstanding
efficient operation it is today.
The story re-tolls such action'
packed events as gun battles with
notorious gangsters John Dillin-
ger, “Pretty Boy” Floyd and
“Baby Face” Nelson and under-
cover work by agents in solving
murders of Osage Indians in Okla-
homa to obtain their oil rights.
Director Mervyn LeRoy spent
five weeks shooting in Washington
D. C., and New York City. His
cameras will give movie goers an
inside look at the amazing opera-
tion in the FBI headquarters in
Washington, where the evidence
required to capture and convict
a criminal is observed, collected
and analyzed.
Others in the cast with Mr.
Stewart and Miss Miles are Mur-
ry Hamilton, Larry Pennell, Nick
Adams, Diane Jergens, Jean Wil-
lea, Joyce Taylor, Victor Millan
and Parley Bear.

Dr. Lawrence Jordan, 68, died
Saturday when struck by a hit
and tun driver near Meridian.
State Police said the doctor was
hit about 6:30 a.m., on State High-
way 22 within the city limits of
Meridian.

sympathy to Mrs. Dewey Wood in
the passing of her father, Mr.
Monroe Crow. He lived in Bluff
Dale. Among those that attended
the funeral at Stephenville Sunday
afternoon. Rev. Joe Davis, Mrs.
Corbit Miles and Mr. and Mrs. L.
H. Allen.
Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Cook, Joe
and Norma of Crawley spent the
weekend with their parents and
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arch
Musick.
Guests in the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Blake Curl and Carolyn Sun-
day were Marie and Danny Swof-
ford, Linda Keeling, Blake Curl, Jr.
of Tarleton, Dwight Nanny and
Mrs. Artie Curl of Tolar.
Mrs. Travis Baker of San An-
gelo visited last Thursday with
Miss Edna Baker on her way to
Dallas to visit with her daughter.

many years, before moving to

Brenda of Breckenridge spent the
weekend with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Dewey Wood and also attend-
ed the funeral of Mr. Monroe
Crow.
Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Allen and
son of Gatesville spent Sunday
with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.
B. Allen.
Mr. and Mrs. Pat Woods and
two sons, Rickey and Randy of
Waco spent the weekend with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Houston
Woods.
