Gentlemen:
Reply to yours of April 8th has been delayed by the writer's
absence from the city.
As far as 1 can see, the procedure you have outlined is en-
tirely proper, but, frankly, i have not in any way been kept informed
as to the valuations. Herbert was specific in his request before his
death that I not be concerned or called on to give any thought to the
matter, leaving it pretty much to his wife and his brother Harris to
handle.
tiarris is presently in Lurope. 1 have sent a copy of your
letter of the 8th to him by air mail today. i do not believe there
is any question but ihat the proceeding you nave outlined is in order,
but that you may have no question about it I have asked Harris to
cable his approval or disapproval ana we should have his answer by
the 18th or 19th at the latest.
