cussed and Mrs. Hanna Belcher
gave a program on “Managing
Equipment Budget.”

The Huckabay dairy cattle
judging team placed seventh at
the Heart of Texas Fair Dairy
Judging Contest, conducted last
Saturday ‘in Waco.
The team hod a score of 596 out
of a possible 750 points.
Team members were Kenueth
Cason, Garry Randolph, and
Redge Stewart.
Mm. Mewbanks of Atlanta, Ga.,
is visiting this week with her
daughter and family Mr. and Mrs.
O. A. Gant.

Two «f our older cituens have
recently died which give* a a |
felling of adorns. Mr Neb Fors-;
•ter and Mr. Ulysis Evans are
those who have gone on before
and they will be missed by friends
and relatives. We were indeed
shocked and saddened by the sud-
den death of Mr. Rufus Higgs, '
Only last Monday when I met him
ill town he greeted me heartly and
mid as he went on his way, “Now
You be a good girl”. Mr. Higgs
was known far and wide for his
newspaper columns and other
civic work and he will indeed be
missed.

visited last week in Alamogordo.
N. M. with their son William and
wife, William is holding a fin# ex-
ecutive job there and hia wife,
Martha is teaching.
Mr. Bob Herring and Bud have
been recent visitors in the com-
munity.
Mr. -and Mrs. Roy Mack Thomp-
son are the pxtiud parents of a
new son. They are former resi-
dents of our .community but are
living over the Upan way now.
Miss Janice Smith visited re-
cently with her grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. Tobe Quarles.
Mr. and Mrs. Carrol Elston at-
tended the Musical at School Hill
Friday night. They spent the
night with Mr. and Mrs. Roger
Elston and also visited the Ralph
Elstons.

Hoggs mother of Albany died re-
cently at Albany.
