The two cold waves that came
the |last week have killed the corn
crops, gardens and fruit, nnd the
high cold wind has whipped the
flowers and shrubbery until they
look terrible.
The H. D. Club members pre-
pared supper at the school lunch
room for a large number of Hico
Lions and their wives last Wedt
nesday night. A number of couplet
of Clnirette wore invited ** gysris.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the
supper and program, put on by
the Lion* Club. The gvests wish
to thank the Lions and H. D.
Club members.
Mrs. Mattie Walsworth and
Mrs. Mary Koonsman wore hostess
to the Busy Bee Club Thursday
afternoon. Officers were elected
for this year. They wore, presi-
dent, Mrs. Mattie Wadsworth; vice-
president, Mrs. Myrtle Thompson;
secretary, Mrs. Mary Nell Scott:
chairman for refreshments, Mrs.
Vonetto Wolfe; chairman for en-
tertainment, Mrs. Betty Christian;
