San Angelo Times—Additional
West Texas wools moved into
trade channels Tuesday with con-
firmation being made on several
sales and at least two being at
prices which were described “a
little higher” for this type of
wool.
At Del Rio, the Del Rio Wool &
Mohair Co., and the Producers’
Wool & Mohair Co., each sold
100,000 pounds of 1948 eight-
months wool to Clyde Young,
Lampasas buyer for Winslow &
Co,, Boston, at 50 cents per
pound.
This was the wool that was
sold at the “little higher price.”
C. Thomas Parker, San Angelo,
buyer for Emery, Russel & Good-
rich, Boston, purchased an addi-
tional 150,000 pounds of 1948
lamb wool from Roddie & Co., at
Brady, for 61 cents per pound,
Frank Roddie, a member -of the
firm, confirmed Tuesday night.
Previously Roddie had sold
Parker 100,000 pounds at this
price.
The Western Wool & Mohair
Co., San Angelo, has purchased
around a carload of 1948 12-
months wool from S. Copeland,
Strawn, at 57 cents per pound,
Bill Littleton, manager, confirm-
ed. This wool was described as
being Corriedale - Delaine wool.
Copeland is a ranchman in the
Strawn section.
Littleton also reported Tuesday
the sale of around 80,000 pounds
of 1945-46 12-months CCC-owned
wools to George Allison, San An-
gelo, Texas representative of the
Colonial Wool Co.
Roddie confirmed the sale of
around 100,000 pounds of 1945
CCC-owned to Allan Emery Jr.,
of Emery, Russel and Goodrich,
Boston.
Considerable more of the 1948
clip, which has just started mov-
ing into the warehouses at a con-
sistent sort of pace during the
last few days, possibly was sold
Tuesday, but buyers were scatter-
ed all over the territory and
were not available for reports
Tuesday night.
It was estimated that more
than 30 buyers, including new ar-
rivals from Boston and those who
live in Texas, were in the area
keeping a close check on incom-
ing clips at the warehouses and
making offers.

Now It's Neckties
Made of Milk!
Fellow in Andy Botkin’s Tavern
was boasting about a trick necktie
he was wearing made out of a by-
product of milk. “Took S3 pounds
of milk to make this tie,” he says.
Bill Webster was unimpressed.
“Personally,” he.says, “I’d rather
have the milk to drink. Just as I
wouldn’t change one glass of good
American beer for a necktie made
from thirty barrels of it!”
Yes, modern science being what
it is —seems like you can make
“anything out of anything” these
days. But in the case of milk, well
I guess drinking it te still a whole
lot better than just wearing it*
Of course there are lots„of other
ways of abusing goods and bev-
erages—like a fellow who. doesn’t
appreciate good beer enough to
drink it slowly and in moderation.
But from whereT sit, most peo-
ple who enjoy a wholesome bev-
erage like beer or ale are moderate
—because beer itself is a beverage
of moderation.
