St. Luke’s Episcopal Church is
currently holding confirmation
classes at the church on Wednes-
day evenings, from 7:30 to 9:30
p.m.
The first hour of the class will
be devoted to lecture on the his-
tory and beliefs of the church.
The second hour consists of
question and answer period.
Rev. Owen Dice, church minis-
ter, invites all who are interest-
ed to attend.
Regular church services are held
at 4 p.m. each Sunday.
The women of St. Luke’s Church
held their regular Guild meeting
Thursday at the church. A social
hour was held afterwards.
2-car collision
occurs Thursday
Damage was estimated at 5650
to two cars in a collision at the
intersection of 12th Street and
Avenue C at 7:10 p.m. Thursday.
A 1961 Karmann. driven by
James Alfred Graves, was going
west on 12th Street, ran a stop
sign and hit a 1956 Chevrolet,
driven by Basil Belvin Foster, go-
ing north on Avenue C. The Graves
car sustained 5500 and the Foster
car, $150.
Graves was issued a ticket for
failure to give right-a-way.
Bill Burkett was the investigat-
ing officer.

Heart,” at the morning worship
service at Fairview Baptist Church
The evening sermon topic will be
"Responding to Humanity's Hurt,
This Sunday will be recognized
in the church program as Har
vest Day and in that connection,
special emphasis will be placed on
three phases: 1. High attendance;
2. Enlist new members in the Sun-
day School and church; and 3.
Professions of faith.
Also Sunday is the day for the
special state mission offering hon-
oring Mary Hill Davis. The worn
en of the WMU will be in charge
of a special program at the be
ginning of the Training Union
hour.
Monday through Friday of next
week each evening beginning at
7. there will be a study at the
church. The week will be known
as “Preparation Week” and will
be in preparation of the new Sun-
day School year.
The different classes that will
meet in connection with the study
are: Adults and Young People,
taught by Rev. Burnett. They will
study the book "Outreach for the
Unreached.” This study will not
only be a study of the book but
also a study of the Sunday School
and the new year. The group will
be adopting new goals and plan-
ning the objectives for the new
year.
Through the Sunday School,”
taught by Mrs. J. D. Tomlinson,
guest teacher.
Fighters for Freedom,” will be
the title of the book for Juniors
taught by J. D. Tomlison, guest
teacher.
The Beginner and Primary chil-
dren will be taught "Pleasing God
With My Body,” by Mrs. R. E.
Janes. v

charge of the nursery children.

ASSEMBLY OF GOD
The revival meeting at the First
Assembly of God Church will come
to a close at the Sunday evening
service. The Ted Stephens fam-
ily is conducting the meeting.
Services will begin at 7:45 Fri-
day and Saturday nights with a
special ser/ije directed to the
youth on Saturday night. The ser-
vice will include a singspiration
and special singing groups.

TRINITY BAPTIST
Rev. and Mrs. Gerald Pinkston,
missionaries to Indonesia, will fill
the pulpit at both the morning
and the evening services at Trinity
Baptist during the absence of the

Methodist Church Sunday morning
