Goal to improve every game

One goal for the young Llano
Yellowjacket Baseball team has
been to Improve every game.
Excellent pitching by Zach
Shields and Casey Landers Is
leading the way and fleldlng has
greatly Improved.The Jackets
are a hit or two, at the right time,
front being 3 and 0 In the district
instead of 1 and 2.
Shields pitched a complete
game In the losing effort against
Burnet lat Tuesday. Shields had
his best outing of the year giving
up only Ave hits. Zach's thom In
his side from Burnet was Mas
solettl who hit a double and a
triple and was responsible for
all three Burnet runs.
Landers scored the only Llano
run In the first after clubing a
triple. Chapel Schuessler sin-
gled to score Landers, getting
the RBI. Others getting hits for
Llano were John Johnson and
Coiy Halliburton.
Junior Varsity
The JV Jackets drummed
Burnet 14 to 2 In shortened
game due to the 10 run rule.
Mark Schulze picked up the win
in relief of Jimmy Hill who com-
bined for a one hitter.

The Lady Jackets finished 4th
In a field of 11 teams at the
Wlmberley Relays. After experi-
encing some difficulty in the
field events where only one
Individual placed, the Lady
Jackets pluced in every running
event except the 100 hurdles
and 200 meters. Those who
placed were April Grubaugh. 1st
high Jump; 2nd 300 hurdles. 3rd
•1600 meter relay. 4th 400 meter
relay; Sherry Adams 3rd 400
.meter; 3rd 1600 meter relay. 4th
400 meter relay; AHssa Kaye
Golemon 3rd 800 meter. 3rd
1600 meter relay; 6th 800 me-

Leading the hit parade for
Llano were Jason Reynolds. 3
for 4; Eric Schuessler, 2 for 4
with a double; and Markus
Reagor. 2 for 2. Doubles were
also hit by Jimmy Cruz and
Jeremy Hubble. Mark Schulze
was credited with a single.
Friday night. Llano brought
the rooms to sweep Brady with a
7-2 Varsity win and 13-3 JV win.
In the Varsity game. Llano
hitters finally got In gear col-
lecting 11 hits against the Brady
pitchers. It was the Jackets turn
to have the big inning scoring 6
runs on 5 hits in the fifth Inning
to break Brady s back.
Leading the Jackets hitters
were John Johnson. 3 for 3 and
Cory Halliburton, 2 for 3. Others
getting hits were Landers.
Schuessler. Shields. Hawkins.
Hubble and Dodgen.
Landers pitched a complete
game and was the winning
pitcher for Llano scattering 7
Brady hits.
Mark Schulze went 2 for 4 at
the plate while pitching a com-
plete game In the JV Jacket win.
Others getting hits were Markus
Reagor. 1 for 2 with a triple. Eric
Schuessler. 1 for 1 drawing 3
walks, and Jeremy Hubble. 1 for
3
The Dripping springs Tigers
will come to town Friday for a 4
p.m. JV game and a 7:30 p.m.
varsity game.
Next Monday the JV will travel
to Marble Falls for a 7 p.m game
while the varsity will travel to
Marble Falls on Tuesday for a
7:30 p.m. game.

Ellen and Jenna Jones and
Crystal Maddox recently spent
four days In Arlington. Thursday
they met Ellen's mother Beverly
Soholt at the airport and spent
the day shopping. Friday and
Saturday they attended a Clog-
ging Rally. They danced for four
hours Friday afternoon, learning
a new dance each hour. Satur-
day they clogged for nine
straight hours, learning nine
new dances. Saturday night they
attended a Clogging exhibition.
Sunday they shopped, had
lunch and dropped Mrs. Soholt
off at the airport before return-
ing home.

vacation. She went to a friend's
fundamentals of hitting, pitch-
ing and fielding. He will also
answer any questions about
how you may help your child
become a better baseball
player.
The clinic will be moved to the
Llano Elementary School Gym
In case of rain.
On Saturday afternoon, help
will be needed to complete the
renovation of Barney Lee Field
to get It ready. People are
needed to spread dirt and tie
wire.

and Alvin at Fresno. They went
on to Branson. Mo. with Dan and
Shirley Rogers and Charles and
Bo Calley. They went to a couple
of shows and toured Branson.
Llos met Louise Mandrell and
had her picture made with her.
They also toured Eureka
Springs.
The Christian Womens lun-
cheon was Thursday, March 25
at the Presbyterian Church in
San Saba. This was a special
day as It was this day 15 years
ago a group of women decided
this would be a way for women
of all denominations to gather
and enjoy Christian fellowship.,
There have been speakers from
many areas, testimonies and
many different kinds of music.
The next meeting will be at the
First Baptist Church in San
Saba. April 22 with speaker.
Polly Morrison from Uvalde.
Those who attended the lun-
cheon from Cherokee were
Betty White, Polly Maddox.
Augusta Lumbley, Jennie
Boultinghouse and Floyce
Slaughter.
A supper and wedding shower
was held for Mrs. James Michael
Milsap Saturday. March 27 at
the fire station. We remember
Mrs. Milsap as Jaclyn Goble, a
very talented young lady. We
wish her every happiness.
Rev. Shane and Nancy Dona
hoo spent part of their vacation
In Fredericksburg. They stayed
out in the country at the Hill
Country Bungalow. Friends Kyle
and Melinda Cochran from
Morgan Mill accompanied
Shane and Nancy on a tour of
Fredericksburg. They also went
to Temple. Waco and Hamilton.
