in homemaking met at the
homemaking cottage Wednesday
morning at 9 o’clock in regular
semi-monthly class session fix
group evaluations of their home
project activities.
After the opening ritual led
ly the FHA Chapter president,
jiernadette Bar.kouskie, each
member answered the roll call
by telling some of their home
projects accomplishments and
felating evidences of improved
family living traceable directly
to their summer experiences.

Area VIII president, gave a re-
port of the Future Homemaker
Leadership Training Workshop
held at the Student Memorial
Center at A. and M. College,
June 1-L, 15 and 16. Approxi-
mately 100 Future Homemakers
from Area VIII attended the
workshop conference.
Joan Lamberth, Rosemary
Tichey and Pat Barton gave a
report of the day camp and
yearbook workshop held at the
J. H. Stokes Lodge at Red’s
Lake on Wednesday, June 29.
Thirty Future Homemakers
from Teague, Palestine, Wood
house and Fairfield attended the
District workshop*.
Roxie Anne Boles was elected
-“Girl of the Month” for June.
The selection was made on
leadership ability. As chairman
of the state homemakers degree
committee. Roxie Ann holds a
weekly worshop for the state
degree candidates and has given
valuable tips on compiling and
writing the degree. Those work-
ing on the state homemaker
degree are: Nelda Barger, Pat
Barton, Sue Carlile, Sylvia Fas-
hion, Judy Hardison, Joan Laim-
berth, lo Ann McCosiin, Linda
Nichols, Elizabeth Sammons,
and Rosemary Tichey.
The meeting adjourned after
the closing ritual led by the
president.

Dies Here Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs. Neo-
ma Porter Hamilton, age 86,
were held at Ham Brothers
Funeral Chapel Sunday, July 17,_
at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. H. L.
McKissack, paston of the Eighth
Avenue Baptist church, conduct-
ing the services.
Burial was in Cotton Gin Cem-
etery, with Ham Brothers in
charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hamilton was bom
March 27, 1869, in Jefferson
County Tennessee, d^d came to
Texas at he age of 11 and lived
in Freestohe County the rest of
her life, except for two years
that she lived in East Texas.
She was a member of the
Primitive Baptist Church, also a
member of the Woodman Circle
51 years.
She is survived by three sons,
F. O. Hamilton, Houston; H. H.
Hamilton, Velasco, and Lawrencq
B. Hamilton, Teague and one
daughter, Mrs. I. M. McClen
don, of Iola.
Also surviving are 19 grand-
children, nine great-grandchild
ren, and one great-great grand-
child; onebrother, Jasper New-
man, Wichita Falls, and one
sltser, lilrs. Emma Webb, of
Houston.
The pallbearers were her
grandsons.
