Rodriquez, at approximately 9 58

The fire was quickly contained
and extinguished with very little

Three speakers w ill be a part of
the CCC program. Dr. Steve
Hammack. Extension Beef Cattle
Specialist. Texas A&M Center-
Stephenville, will discuss the
kind of cattle that the feeders and
packers look for. He will discuss
selecting the right breed
including buying bulls for
crossbred cows. A big part of
knowing the kind of cattle to
have is know ing what the buyers
want and Dr. Hammack will help
producers answer this question.
The second speaker on the
CCC program is Dr. L. R. Sprott,
Extension Beef Cattle Specialist,
Texas A&M University, College
Station. Dr. Sprott will discuss
what to do now that you have the
low cattle numbers and what to
look for when buying back
replacements. He will discuss
breeding and breeding programs
on the cow side to meet market
demand.
The last speaker on the
program will go in a different
direction focusing on forages and
forage supply after a drought.
Dr. Twain Butler is the new
Extension .Agronomist at the
Texas A&M Center in
Stephenville. Dr. Butler came on
board in October and has already
been involved in a series of
educational programs on forage
quality and matching that quality
with the class of animal. Dr.
Butler will discuss the forages we
have in our area, their nutritional
content, small grain and winter
pastures and cow requirements.
Come join other beef producers
across the area to leant more
about restocking options after the
drought. Sponsors for the CCC
include Comanche Electric
Cooperative, Ag Texas Farm
Credit Services, UAP Southwest,
First National Bank-DeLeon,
Dublin and Gustine, Farmers and
Merchants Bank, Comanche
National Bank and Gores
AgriService Center.
