DECKED OUT IN 50'S COSTUMES: Many who attended the Main Street event last Saturday came in
costume to fit the Fifties’ Rock & Roll theme when poodle skirts, bobby socks, scarves and penny loafters
were high fashion. The costume contest, held under the Fleming Oak, was called the Fifties under the
Fleming contest.
COMANCHE CAR CLUB'S shiny antique cars were in style at the Rockin’ & Rollin’ Round the Square )
event, Saturday night. The antique cars on display were a real crowd-pleaser and an attraction that added *
to the ambience of the 50’s theme. Approximately'T’000 were on hand for the Comanche Main Street
Program’s first downtown event.

Fund-raiser
A benefit fund-raiser will be at the Proctor
Community Center serving BBQ sandwiches with potato
salad and dessert all for $5.00 a plate.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FOR CONSTRUCTION SERVICES
COMANCHE COUNTY CONSOLIDATED HOSPITAL DISTRICT
COMANCHE, TEXAS
PROJECT - The owner, Comanche County Consolidated Hospital District, wishes to receive bid proposals
in order to select a construction manager to assist in the construction of a new free standing replacement hospital
for the district. The construction manager will be required to provide a guaranteed maximum price prior to
construction. Pursuant to § 3.15 (e) of the enabling legislation of the Comanche County Consolidated Hospital
District (Chapter 132, Acts of the 74,h Legislature, Regular Session, 1996, as amended by Chapter 1282, Acts of
the 77th Legislature, Regular Session, 2001), the District may make a contract for construction involving the
expenditure of over $10,000 only after competitive bidding as provided by Chapter 271, Subchapter B, of the
Texas Local Government Code.
SCOPE - The proposed scope of the project will be a new freestanding acute care hospital facility of
approximately 80,000 square feet.
The total site area is approximately 30 acres located on Highway 16 approximately 6.5 miles north of
Comanche, Texas.
It is the Owner’s intent to solicit proposals from Construction Managers and to select one to become a part
of the Project Team. These REP requests proposals from those Construction Managers for their pre-construction
fees, construction fee (overhead and profit) and general conditions based on their cost and time estimates of the
project and based on their cost and time estimates of the project and based on an allocating cost form included
in information available from the architect regarding this RFP.
PROJECT STATUS - The project is in the schematic design phase at this time.
The successful Construction Manager will be intricately involved in the Project and offer design and/or
materials suggestions to assist the team in providing the Owner with a finished project within his project budget.
QUALIFICATIONS - Each Construction Manager is required to submit, along with the response to this
request, a Contractor's Qualification Statement, AIA Document A305, AIA version 3.0 or ‘97. The experience
of the Construction Manager in successfully constructing similar Acute Care Facilities with Critical Care
Components in the past 5 years will be a major consideration in the final selection by the Owner.
The successful Construction Manager shall have the capability to provide dost information to Owner and
Architect during the Pre Design, Design Development and Construction Documents.
BONDS - The successful Construction Manager shall be bondable and able to provide a Performance Bond
and Labor and Material Bond for 100% of the project costs if required by the Owner.
BID DUE DATE - The proposals (3 copies) will be due by THURSDAY, AUGUST 29, 2002, at 2:00 PM.
