While there has been much to
criticise in Governor Hobby’s Ad-
ministration, which is now draw-
ing to a close, yet it must said to
to his credit that he has brought
about some things to the great
betterment of the state, principal-
ly "his change of heart towards
Mexico.
The Texas Court of Appeals has
ruled that it is contrary to law to
have motion picture shows or
base ball games on Sunday where
an admission! fee is charged.
The old blue laws will soon over-
whelm the country unless the
people rise and put a veto on
them.
The question of putting a stop
to foreign immigration is now be-
fore Congress, It is charged
that the class of immigrants are
of the very lowest order and will
make undesirable citizens. The
foreign countries are plotting to
unload the criminals and paupers
on this country. It is certain
that ariLimmigrants will be de-
b?rredHp^ least two years.
To Finance Cotton.
Chicage, 111., Dec. 10*—Organi-
zatiohof a corporation to finance
foreign trade, to be backed by
bankers, manufacturers and
merchants over the entire coun-
try, was indorsed today by
prominent speakers before a
conference meeting under the
auspices of the American Bank-
ers Association. The proposed
corporation would be formed un-
der the Edge law, with a capital
of $100,000,000, ayailable to Am-
erican producers as cash pay-
ment for their goods, on which
foreign buyers would be unable
to pay cash. This foreign trade
speakers said, was necessary
to the commercial progress of
the United States, and some
method of financing foreign
trade must be worked out to en-
able American manufacturers to
take their place in the world
trade.
Herbert Hoover, speaking be-
fore the afternoon session, de-
clared that if the project was
successful, today’s conference
would have been the most mo-
mentous since the armistice.

HOST IMPORTANT PRICE REDUCTION
Of all price reductions made in recent
months, there is none of such importance as
the substantial decline in lumber.
With the present need of homes and
buildings this spells a great saving to builders.
Then too, the actual dollar saving on the
material for a new home would amount to
more than all the savings on other purchases,
for the average family for a year or more.
If you could realize how low the present
lumber prices are compared with the cost of
production you would not hesitate to start
your proposed building at once.
In addition to attractive price we offer
quality materials and real building service,
