we raise registered Border
Collies and have learned to
appreciate this breed for their
natural working ability and
loyalty.
Personally,! can’t say enough
for the Border Collie as they
have played such an important
part in our family recreation,
as this is one area of our family
life where we can all meet and
share interests on the same
level.
To those of you who might
not know Loy and Nelsie
Miller, you have certainly
missed a blessing. We met
them through the raising of
Border Collies and have cer-
tainly learned to appreciate
them as top-notch Border
Collie breeders as well as
outstanding individuals who
r.re always willing to share
cnowledge.of the breed, or just
sit and visit in a way that you
know they have a deep feeling
for their fellow men.

In the very near future, with
the coopeation of the Chamber
of Commerce, there will be
persons and businesses that
will be featured on a monthly
basis, which we feel will be
very enjoyable for you, our
readers, and certainly help
improve our paper. This is
something we have tried to do
for quite some time.
After mentioning this to the
new Chamber president, Pat
Eisenrich, the subject was
taken up with the board, who
will select individuals that they
feel will be interesting to
feature in our paper. We
certainly appreciate their co-
operation.
MY SINCERE THANKS
I take this means to acknow-
ledge to all of you the many
kindnesses you extended to
me during my recent stay in
the hospital: your visits, gifts,
phone calls, and above all,
your prayers. May the good
Lord bless you all.

legislation legalizing the pro-

legislation vital to the develop-

such as gasohoi, in Texas.
The legislation creates a

the production of gasohoi.
Currently, the alcohol portion
of gasohoi has been prohibited

HEIFERS
When developing replace-

to consider such things as

need to reach the desired
weight level for breeding at 14

ORGANIC
All eggs are “organic”. While
the label "organic” is general-
ly related to eggs from chick-
ens fed natural foods, there is
no evidence that organic eggs
are more nutritious. Whatever
the label, eggs properly main-
tained in a store where move-
ment is rapid are still the best
purchase.
Landscaping For
Low Maintenance
A well-planned, simplistic
home landscape design is the
secret to keeping down labor
costs as well as time-consum-
ing maintenance. It is impor-
tant to select plants that won’t
grow their alloted space. Also,
eliminate unnecessary borders
along drives and walks, and
have only one or two small
annual flower beds.
NOW IS THE TIME
FOR PLANT LICE
No doubt about it, this is the
time of year that you need to
be watchful for a build-up of
aphids, or plant lice, according
to David Moore, County Ento-
mologist. New growth is a
favoring SP°* for aphids to
accumulate. They suck sap
and cause the foliage to curl,
and growth is stunted.
Honeydew is a sweet sugary
sap excreted by aphids, and it
is attractive to ants and other
insects. A black sooty mold
also grows on the honeydew
and makes a real mess.
Aphids can be controlled by
insecticides such as diazinon,
malathion, or orthene. Be sure
to apply a good thorough
application and be ready to
repeat as necessary.
yeas. Under a changing ener-
gy situation, the law presents
a barrier to the development of
Texas. Already
shortages are being experi-
enced in some parts of the
nation. Texas is currently
experiencing some diesel fuel
shortages.
SEEDS FROM
VTHE SOWER
I 1 By Michael A. Guido, Metier, Georgia
One night the chief of the
Delaware Indians was sit-
ting by the fireside with
some friends.
“I’ve been thinking,”
said one, “of a rule deliv-
ered by the Author of the
Christian religion. It is
known as the Golden
Rule.”
“Do not praise it,” com-
manded the chief. “Tell me
what it is!”
“In everything,” he re-
plied, “do to others what
you would have them do to
you.”
“That’s impossible,” in-
sisted the chief, “unless the
Great Spirit who made
man would give him a new
heart."
That is exactly what the
Lord does.
When you put your trust
in Him, you became a
brand new person. You are
not the same anymore. The
old is gone, the new has
come. You undergo a com-
plete and permanent
change.
The'Lord does not re-
model sinners. He creates
new saints. He changes
your affections and alters
your ways.
Let Him change you,
won’t you?
