De Leon Band Tr.-ks to Brownwood
The high school band left from the
City Hall at 8:30 Tuesday morning*
for Brownwood to compete in a con-
test of West. Texas bands. After we
were Told when and where to meet
for dinner, the motorcade of abiur
ten ears started. »
All morning we explored Brown-
wood. Every nook and crevice of the
down-town section was duly noted by]

At 11:00 the band assembled at
RattifFs Cafe where yve wei*e served
"a turkey dinner. After lunch we
heard more bands play in hotel lob-
bies, W. Lee O’Daniel and his Hill-
Billy Boys, and saw bands parade the
streets.
At 1:30 all the hands assembled at
the Brovvnwood HotM where the paL-TTehded the play.
