In Meeting

The regular meeting of the Proc-
tor Community Center met
Tuesday, July 30th, at 8 p.m.
The menu of salads was enjoyed
by 37 members
The table was a rainbow of
colors with the favorite salads of
the super cooks of the Proctor
community.
After everyone had eaten their
fill, a short meeting was called,

Parker-Tschudi Wedding
Vows Exchanged Sunday
MISS TEEN PAGEANT CONTESTANT: Miss Stacy Calcote. 16
year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Calcote of Gustine, has
been selected as a contestant in th6 Texas Miss Teen Pageant.
Miss Teen is a National Pageant which recognizes and honors
young ladies between the ages of 14-18 in areas of Volunteer Ser-
vice, Scholastic Achievement, Speech or Talent, Appearance,
Poise and Personality. Stacy is being sponsored by several
Gustine and Comanche merchants and will be competing for the
Miss Teen title on August 30, 31 and September 1 in Dallas. This
summer Stacy was crowned as winner in the 13-17 year old
division of Kids of America Beauty Pageant held in Stephenville.
Stacy will be a junior at Gustine High) School and enjoys
cheerleading, stock shows and swimming.

"Make It Yourself With
Wool" Contest is Scheduled

The “Make It Yourself With
Wool” contests and entry form
hpve been announced and are
available through the County Ex-
tension Office located in the Cour-
thouse basement.
The beauty and versatility of
wool will be the focus for the
"Texas Make-It-Yourself With
Wool” Contest for 1985. The con-
test is sponsored annually by the
Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers
Auxiliary. Texas Department of
Agriculture and the American
Sheep Producers Council. Purpose
of the annual contest is to en-
courage the use of wool in sewing,
knitting and crocheting
fashionable garments. It also of-
fers young experts the oppor-
tunity to compete for prizes and
win recognition.
District competition is held in 8
areas of Texas during September
and October. State competition
will be Saturday, October 19, at
the State Fair of Texas. Anyone
may enter.
Categories for competition are
determined by age and include
Preteen ages 10-13; Junior - ages
14-16; Senior - ages 17-21; and
Adults - over 21.
The District III Contest will be
October 5th at the Sunset Mall in
San Angelo. For more information,

Miss Susan Lee Parker and Mr.
Todd Phillip Tschudi were united
in marriage at four o'clock in the
afternoon Sunday, August 4, 1986
in the First United Methodist
Church in Comanche.
Rev. Bill Smith officiated at the
double ring ceremony, reading the
same wedding vows used by Rev.
Urban A. Schultz at the wedding
of the bride's parents in 1948.
Parents of the couple are Mr.
and Mrs. William G. Parker, 201
Tenth Street, Comanche and Mrs.
Janaan Tschudi of 1530 South
Monroe, San Angelo, Texas.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore a white linen suit,
pink silk blouse and white ac-
cessories.
Her jewelry was a strand of
pearls, a gift of the groom.
She carried a nosegay bouquet
of bridal pink roses and white
phalonsis orchids with pink and
white ribbons tied with love knots.
The groom wore a grey suit with
a pink rose and baby's breath
boutonniere.
The mother of the bride wore a
pink and grey dress and the
groom’s mother chose blue. Both
wore pink rose corsages.
The altar of the church was cen-
tered with a brass fan with fifteen
lighted tapers. Spiral candelabras
with fifteen lighted tapers each
flanked the fan. Also placed on the
altar were two giant leaf photos.
The communion table, laid with a
white parament, was lighted with
2 candles and placed in front of the
fan.
Following the ceremony the
bridal couple and their families
shared communion.
A reception was held in the
fellowship hall.
The bride's table was covered
with a pink floor-length cloth with
an over-lay of pink net. The table
was centered with an arrangement
of pink and white carnations in a
crystal container. Crystal and
silver appointments were used.
Mrs. Bill Smith ladeled pink
punch and Miss Marguerite Ross
served the wedding cake with min-
ts and nuts.
The two tiered wedding cake
was topped with the ceramic bride
and groom which was used on the
wedding cake of the bride's paren-
ts.
After a wedding trip to St.
Thomas the newlyweds will be at
home at 601 Hearn No. 202,
Austin.
The bride, a 1980 graduate of
Comanche High School, graduated
from the University of Texas in
August of 1983 with a BA degree
in psychology.
The groom, a 1974 graduate of
Central High School in San
Angelo, attended Austin Com-
munity College and Angelo State
University for three years.
Both are licensed Real Estate
agents and are employed by Peer-
man Land Co. in Austin.
Christening Ceremony is Held
champagne and christening cake
made by Lauren's sister, Lynn.
The strawberry Cake was iced in
white decorated with pink and
burgundy roses.
Lauren Meryl Turner, daughter
of Dr. and Mrs. Richard Turner,
was christened at the 11:15 a.m.
Sunday, August 5, service at St.
Matthews Episcopal Church.
Father Earl Heverly officiated.
God-parents were Diana and Tom
Hendricks of Irving and Lani
Roberts of Xrlington.
At two o'clock in the afternoon
the Turner’s held a reception in
Lauren’s honor for the member-
ship of St. Matthews.
The guests were served pink
Other out-of-town guests in-
cluded Lauren's grandmother and
name-sake, Mrs. Meryl Talbert of
Ft. Worth; Katy and John Hen-
dricks of Irving. Shannon Roberts
of Arlington, and Mr. and Mrs
Walter Neeley of Irving, who are
Lynn’s god-parents.
