At her lesldence In Birdvlllc last
evening at fi o'clock Mrs. Agnes Boaz
in the 07th year of her .age. The
funeral will take place this nltcrnoon
in Birdvlllc at 3 o'clock.
Mrs. Boaz was a native of Tennessee
where slio married forty-nlno years
ago. Her husband S. Boaz and her
sons Tuck. W.J. K. L. Richard
and David Boaz all citiens of this
county arc left to mourn her Iohs.
Mrs. Boaz had one sister living in
Kentucky and one Mrs. Frank EIUs-
ton wife of our tax collector lives in

What might have been a very disas-
trous lire but for its timely discovery
was averted last night lu tho First
National Bank building. Tho occu-
pants of Commissioner Kennedy's
room hud carelessly deposited the coals
and ashes from the stove- In a box and
left It standing in the room On the
floor. The lire burned through
tho llopr and tho coals falling
Into the room below 'as discovered
by tho watchman and the alarm given.
A few buckets of water brought by
willing hands soon extinguished the
lire. It seems that no amount of expe-
rience will leach people that it is not
sale to keep coals and hot ashes In
