play of that series.
Davis added another single -
point conversion for a 14-0 lead.
The Exporters then kicked off
to Jones and on the second play
of the series, Jones fullback Ted
Scruggs fumbled on hia own 23
and Brazos port safely Jay Cor-
mier recovered at the Jones 27.
All It took then was for the
vastly improved Pratt to pitch
a touchdown strike to end
George Williams on the first
play for a 27-yard counter.
Davis again converted for hir
21st successful time out of 22
tries for a more comfortable,
21-7, lead.
This turned out to also bf
Brazoaport’s fourth penetration
of the game.
Following the touchdown kick-
off, the fumbling hands of fate
once again took a wicked turn
for the Falcon* and quarter-
back Louis Gavrel hit end Ron-
furioutly by Ronnie Trahan.
The ball, and Still, reeled out
of control and Brazoaport's Mg
Jarrette Ireland pounced on It
at the Jones 40.
In four plays the Exporters
covered the neceisary yardage
with 5:M remaining in that third
frame.
On this 27-yard TD run Pratt
made perhaps the moat beauti-
ful move of the game.
He-took the ball, faked Into
the line and started to roll to
the left tide of hit line A Jones
defender rushed in to make
what looked like a deficit tackle.
Instead ot saying die, Pratt
faked a lateral to a trailing half-
back, sending the ormiahing line-
man on his wsy. Pratt then sim-
ply skirted the end far the score.
This turned up to be a 28-7
lead and the third touchdown
for Pratt In only eight carries,
for 113 yards.
ThW unduubtably proved to be
Braszoaport's most suuccessful
quarter a* they amassed 157
total yards, compared to only
10 (or Jones.
With 6:25 showing in the game
Jones struck for their final time
on a 33-yard pass from Gavrel
to end Lai ry Bailey.
The same combination proved
effective for the two - point
conversion and the eventual, 28-
15, score.
"They had me worried for a
while,” a jubilant Harder
Cooper said following the gam*.
"We didn't change any of our
stuff for that second half, just
got after it a little better.
"This I* the greatest feelinf
•n the world," Cooper, who to
experiencing his (tost trip out
of the district since he's beer
there said.
"That Pratt has shown sc
much Improvement just in thr
past two games," said an admir-
