J Elementary students visit
residents of nursing home
Valentine’s Day may be gone, but
a special activity of students at
Wells Elementary is still being
talked about by residents and frien-
ds of Wells Nursing Home.
Students in Connie Moehler’s
Chapter I reading classes wrote
special Valentine poems for
residents of the home and then
decided to deliver them personally.
Saving their snack money so they
could make treat cups of Valentine
candy, the students spent part of
one afternoon delivering Valentine
greetings to residents.
After reading their poems, the
students conversed with residents,
played bingo and had snacks in the
recreation room.
Following are a selection of
poems from Mrs. Noehler’s class.
When I went to the nursing home
