vice will be held Dec. 1. All ballots
must be mailed or delivered to the
county ASCS office no later than
this date, according to Manuel F.
Aguilar, Executive Director for
Cherokee County.
All farmers and ranchers should
now have an official ballot and
should use it to vote for their choice
to serve on these important com-
mittees, Aguilar said Candidates
listed on the ballot for Community
“A” are: A.L. Boatman, D.E. Kir-
by, Romeo Ragsdale, Clyde “Pat”
Reagan, and D.L. Snow. For Com-
munity “B” candidates are: T. W.
Coats, Forrest Dyess, Kenny Lee
Dyess, Thruman Hampton, and Lee
McMahon. For Community “C”
candidates are: Lloyd Collins, Gary
Dominv Ceril Goodman .1 f! Mat-
thews, and Paul Moake.
Eligible voters may vote for one
to three of these candidates or may
vote for a write-in candidate.

PONTA EXTENSION HOMEMAKER CLUB was recognized as the
Outstanding Club for 1986 during the Annual EH Achievement Lun-
cheon, Nov. 18. The club excelled during 1986 In promoting
educational programs, supporting community projects as well as
sponsoring the Footbridge 4-H Club of Rusk. Members present to
receive the award were Oweta Murphy. Marguerite McLeod, Bobbie
Russell, Lorene Jones. Elna Perkins and Barbara Wootton.
Ms. Wootton Feted
Barbara Wootton was recognized as Cherokee County’s Outstan-
ding Extension Homemaker of 1986, Tuesday, Nov. 18 at the Annual
EH Achievement Luncheon in Rusk. Extensive involvement in club
and countywide EH activities and community activities are some of
Barbara’s accomplishments. She also serves as club president,
secretary and treasurer of the County EH Council and 4-H
organizational leader for the Footbridge 4-H Club of Rusk.
Other club members named as outstanding EH members were
Louise Smith, Cove Springs; Opal Bulard, Northside; Macie Tun-
nell, Central High; Lee Leonardi, Jacksonville; Virginia White,
Jacksonville; and Alma Kitzman, Ponta.
Date for the annual EH Christmas Party has been changed to Dec.
8 in the Courthouse Council Room
