attending physician, as convalescent.-
Mrs. -G. H. Bowen, of Mineral
Wells, died her home in that city
last -Monday morning. Mts. Bowen
was the daughter of Wm. HIttson, of
this courity, and was born and reared
lo this county, her people being
among the early settlers of the town
of Paid Pinto.
—William Byrd, living on Lake
creek south or town, became dement-
ed, and with a double barrel shotgun
took to the mouataids several days
ago. 8henff Owen- was sent fop last
Sunday and went down after him, but
could not find the object of his search.
Tuesday W- T... Simmons came to
tWs and notified Sheriff Owen that
six men, including himself, had early
that morning rounded Byrd up, and
after the exchange of several shots,
had succeeded in capturing the luna-
tic. Not, however, until several ehojs
from the hunting party had taken ef-
fect in Byrd’s anatomy, none of which
are serione, Byrd was brought to
town and lodged in jail. He will be
tried today on a charge of lunacy. It
was reported that hih actions were a
menace to the community.
