Hard Work
Pays Off!
“College work for a Master’s
Degree of Library Science is very
difficult,” said Miss Juanita Da-
vis, Weatherford High School li-
brarian.
For two years she attended
Weatherford College at the end
of which she worked as libra-
rian to the college. For the next
six years she attended summer
school at Texaa Wealyan Col-
lege.
“In 1937,” she said, “I de-
cided I was getting nowhere and
took a leave of absence to work
for a degree at T.W.U.” She
went on to say, “I worked for
a Bachelor of Arts and a major
in library. After receiving my
Bachelor’s Degree I returned to
become librarian at W.H.S. La-
ter, though, I went back to T.
W.U. to receive my Master of
Library Science. ”

Miss Davis enjoys reading good
fiction, biographies, travel
books, and poetry.
One interesting fact she point-
ed out was, “When we are do-
nated books unsuitable for the
library we usually give them to
the Salvation Army.”
A surprising number of books
are issued to students and fa-
culty members per year. Miss
Davis pointed out, “Last year
alone 4,606 books were issued.”
Though her job has its pro-
blems at times she thinks it is
“always fascinating.”
